All I'm saying is that winning a championship doesn't necessarily equate to future success or the guarantee of repeating the success you've had in any measure.

Heefner can clearly develop players. He can clearly and consistently get his teams to the dance. I don't see any how any other option is CLEARLY better. So if it's Heefner... I don't see any reason to view it as a substandard hire.

For those of you who question Coach Heefner, he is highly regarded in baseball circles. Recruits know. Other colleges and HS coaches know. DBU has little to no NIL. Imagine the possibilities. You guys might want to sit this one out…

He may be nationally elite, but Grapevine is not exactly recruiting nationally. Maybe that's what they mean.

Yeah they don't know. If Hill is drafted top 2 rounds, he's not going to DBU. Now, if his coach ends up coaching the Ags, the storyline might change.

He was a late developer who DBU got in on early. Kid kept growing, velocity kept increasing and he stuck with his DBU commitment. No doubt he could've changed to anywhere, so why did he stay with DBU? Heefner, Pennington, ???

Like someone else said, he may be a draft risk anyway. Just wanted to provide one example of a kid that A&M would love to have who is currently signed with DBU.

O'Connor is my #1 choice but if you're dogging Heefner then you simply are ill-informed on college baseball.

Heefner would be a home run hire. It's just that O'Connor would be considered a grand slam and a massive PR coup since we'd be replacing *****zznagle with a coach with a better resume and CWS title to his name.

DBU isn't Childress. He has been a head coach for a long time - Childress was not. He has turned down other jobs many times. I think he will prove to be a home run hire.
Well, the university is not in the business of hiring people for Billy to be friends with. If anything, the previous regime was too "in bed" with TexAgs and put them (TA) in a pretty tight spot.

I haven't seen anything about OConner passing. Last I checked their message board, they were worried about the silence from his camp, and that people usually in the know at UVa were radio silent.

I haven't seen anything about OConner passing. Last I checked their message board, they were worried about the silence from his camp, and that people usually in the know at UVa were radio silent.
Looch just said it's probably unlikely from what he is hearing just from a contract viewpoint "May not be worth it" is what he heard.

O'conner is my #1 but if he is being Jimbo-esque unreasonable the admin should come out and say that. Then move on to skip j or some other somewhat competitive close to the end of career stop gap.

Then spend the next 12 months back channeling the right way a few other guys like Jarret or Tadlock (who's NIL could implode even more) or Vaughn.

DBU strength of schedule last year fit right between FIU and Mercer. Why people think strength of schedule is irrelevant is beyond me. Heefner is a great baseball coach, but there are a lot of those great coaches out there.
