Trev could have possibly known at that particular point in time and called Schloss for that specific reason. He then baited him and Schloss didn't take the bait. And Trev ultimately knew that Schloss was gone. But maybe he decided Schloss needed to be gone based on feedback. Yes, probably a doubtful scenario but I am just saying their are always two sides. Maybe, just maybe, our new AD sniffed a rat before anyone else???

The quotes are from a man that lied to reporters days before the interview. I didn't give it any credibility and did not click on the article. I did read through posted screenshots. I wonder if the writer or editor reached out to the A&M athletic department before publishing. They should have.

I think it's part of the PR spin + a tactic to hurt the coaching search.

If Trev responds later today, then this takes time and attention away from the coaching search.

I think he is lying to try and repair his reputation. He and tu look really bad in this situation. He went to Fort Worth Star Telegram so he could get his friends there to help him try to look like less of an ass. The paper has always been Texas AD's mouthpiece since he was at TCU. I'm probably alone in this one, but it doesn't even bother me if it's true. Telling a coach essentially that if you don't like it here, GTFO, is okay in my book. If we'd said that to a few football coaches over the years the school could have saved a heck of a lot of money, and our record wouldn't be much different.

He even straight up contradicted their story by saying he met with players knowing he was leaving before he even talked to CDC when getting back.

Now that more and more is coming to light. Here's what went down.

Right at that time CDC and Texas decide to go after Schloss. Probably more to do with hurting us than their coach deserving to be fired.

He calls Schloss. Schloss reviews it with his girlfriend and it's done. They decide they want to move.

Now Schloss being the arrogant narcissist he is can't handle things in a way to not get caught bc he's now only focused on his future at Texas. So he starts talking to recruits. And it gets back to A&M and Trev of course.

Trev approaches him in a manner that probably almost got him to slip up but Schloss goes all in on his lies bc he's arrogant and already working their master plan to not only leave but hurt A&M as much as possible.

And now he is trying to use him being caught as the reason he thought about leaving.

Classic behavior of a narcissist.

Example. Cheating narcissistic spouse gets caught in their affair and has the audacity to say their partner is actually cheating with the other persons spouse.

Even if the interview is true we need to keep in mind that sometimes coaches will let their fame go to their heads. They say things trying to let you know how good they are.
Trev is his boss and maybe Slopnavel hurled a snarky comment and Trev felt it imperative to reel him in and remind him who is in charge and that there are people higher up than coach that will make the financial decisions.
