Given the social media activity and reporting in under the impression Gavin Grahovac, Jace LaViolette, and Caden Sorrell will return. Anyone have an idea where we stand with Kent, Morton, and Wilson?

Those seem to be the biggest remaining pieces. Sounds like Kent wants assurances about playing SS. With Bell to TCU, and Camarillo likely to the draft I'd think we can do that for him.

No idea on the pitchers side. I'd assume that depends on the PC hire. Yall got any info or informed speculation?

I would not put stock on Camarillo to the draft.

If everyone comes back, I'd give 3rd to Kent, Gavin to LF, and Bergevin coming in probably takes 1st. Catcher TBA.

Kent seems to want to play SS not 2B.

Edit: Gavin can probably be promised 3B without much issue if necessary. Hopefully that's unnecessary though as we have several bats that fit in the corner INF positions and possibly not enough bases to out them on.

Chestnut is coming back (assuming the Covid year is approved, sounds like it's automatic but still have to do the paper pushing). It will likely be difficult to take 2B from him unless Chestnut is going to stick in CF

Guys...get to know these guys a bit more. Kent played SS/2B in HS along with 3rd base. Saying he is leaving id he doesnt get SS, doesnt say a lot about your baseball knowledge.

Kent did NOT like Schloss and we now know that is a common theme across many players.

Earley helps are chances drastically. Kent was gone if Schloss still our HC.

I know this much, he aint going to Texas.

LSU is giving him a hard pitch for sure. But I think he wants to be in Aggieland with some reassurances that he can trust from Earley.

Gavin also played catcher in HS, but if you went around projecting him there it would say a lot about your baseball knowledge.

Seems strange to unnecessarily remove his name from the portal if he's leaning MLB. Portal gives these draft guys even more leverage. But maybe people think we just have enough NIL that it's enough leverage. Beats me.

Not sure what you mean.

Point is this, Kent is a highly versatile infielder and player. You can plug him into any position pretty much other than the obvious.

Saying he is demanding the starting position at SS is simply naive and shows little knowledge of him or his former playing experience. I watched him play in HS. He isnt that type of kid but absolutely needs reassurnaces about being a STARTER. That's it.

And his performance at the end of the season and CWS absolutely supports any type of attitude desiring reassurances about being a starter. Now saying he will be #1 at SS, is NOT how this works. He will have to earn the specific position based off his performance and also the balance of the strength of the team.
