Post game interview with coach Earley. For those saying we're ignoring the problem watch it. He's frustrated with the offense and fielding and not the first post game interview he's said that.

It's his left shoulder. Supposedly a pain management deal only, no further injury risk.

That's good but he's the one trotting this lineup out there quit being loyal and try something different Tuesday.
Berghevin for Binderup, Wyatt at 3rd, Grahovac at DH Schott on bench, George or Kiel at 2nd, Sorrell in if he's back, Bear at catcher

Good, the only person that matters is hopefully able to fix it

This was a game in which neither team scored in 7 of the 9 innings. We scored 2 runs in the 3rd inning, but Cal Poly scored 3 runs in the 9th inning. Hopefully, we can bounce back from this disappointing home loss with a home win over Texas State on Tuesday.

Yes, the "I don't normally watch Aggie Baseball, but we need to Fire the coach" crowd.

I want to see Bergevin get some run. If Gavin is hurt he needs to rest. Galloway got a day off yesterday but I think we need to see more of Bear or Jamal behind the plate just so we know what they can do if necessary. Binderup could DH. If Sorrell isn't ready George could play an OF spot and Farr could play 2B.

I don't love that we play everyone out of position but that's how this team is composed.
yes, the Ags have 4 designated hitters on the roster, but only 1 can start at DH each game

putting 1 or 2 of the others in the field is risky business

Many on here have been concerned about the play prior to and leading up to today's loss.

I think the biggest worry I have is these are the games we should be honing our skills, adjusting lineup, etc. so we are polished and performing at full strength when LSU, Texas, are in the other dugout. Frankly we have looked sloppy in a couple of areas against inferior competition and today it finally bit us in the ass.

Long season and we have a lot of work to do if we want to be the last one's standing.

Gavin still seemed to be having some trouble with his wrist. Noticed him holding it after he grounded out early in the game

It's fair to ask if that was a factor in the 9th inning error. When his father is sending out a tweet asking for T&Ps he probably shouldn't be playing.

Fielding is a legitimate concern but I don't think you can realistically be concerned about hitting yet. Not only did we score 30 runs last week, we also have guys 1-9 when Sorrell gets back that have proven they can hit at a high level. The hitting isn't just potential, they've proven it at this point.

I'd be much more concerned if we lost this game 10-9. The bullpen is still a much larger question mark than the hitters, and outside of Freshcorn today the pitching was good to great all weekend.

not to mention that the Aggies were about 18 inches from scoring 9 runs today. Yes the bats have started off slowly. I think the cold weather probably factors into that. I'm not too worried about the bats. More doubts regarding defense and closer.
Forgot about the early balls hit deep that seemingly got knocked down by the wind. Still the last 6 innings the bats were lack luster.

I agree with most of this except Bear as of right now is the backup catcher.

Gavin is clearly injured and it's affecting his defense. Kash is a weak defender in LF. Kent is fine but a major downgrade from Ali. Binderup is a downgrade from Ted Burton. Catcher, either of them, are major major downgrades from Appel.

Early getting cute with the pitchers cost us that game. He'll learn. But, that sucked!
WRONG.

****ty fielding and 20 popups cost us that game.

Really, cause none of that gave up 3 runs with a 2 run lead by a freshman after a previous pitcher had shut them down on very few pitches. But, you do you.
Edit so, one run was due to an error.
3 runs should never be enough to beat this team. Especially against a team like CP. so yeah the 20 pop ups were definitely the biggest reason we dropped this game.

3 runs is enough to beat any team in the country. Your premise is ridiculous. This ain't beer league softball.
You're a clown. I guarantee you that the worst of D1 baseball teams avg more than 3 runs per game. Of course some teams lose giving up 3 runs, but we weren't facing a sec weekend starter today either. I'm sure you won't be able to wrap those mashed potatoes around that, so I will type slower for you. You cannot score two runs and EXPECT to beat anybody.

Kash 1 for 12

Binderup 1 for 11

good luck with that from the 5-hole and 6-hole

I'm really interested to see who we run out there on the bump on Tuesday. The bullpen hasn't exactly lit it up so curious if we're intentionally not throwing someone or if we go with Moss.

I've seen Cunningham's name thrown around and if that's the case…

I guess if your pitching sucks you would be correct. But, our pitching doesn't suck. We should easily be able to beat a lot of teams with 2 runs. And you using season averages for runs scored to make your point is beyond absurd as there are a ton of shutouts every weekend against teams that will average over 3 runs a game by the end of the season. But, if mixing and matching your statistics so, you can call someone a clown to make yourself feel intelligent, is what you need to do. I won't attempt to stop you.

By the way, there were 20+ shut outs this weekend of teams who will average probably more than 3 runs a game this season and just as many if not more teams who only scored 1 run. But, hey I'm a clown right.

On a day he made this great play too.

This was the play of the game up until the implosion (tk's being post implosion.)

Correct. A few weeks from now, that's a grand slam and a 2-run home run. That changes everything today.
