Most people can be vice presidents. Very few can handle being president
Basketball game against #1 Auburn probably had a little to do with that.houstonaggie76 said:
On the other hand I was at the game. Our fans bailed early.

more alarm bells thru 11 games:
8 stolen bases
1 sac fly
0 sac bunts
there is zero manufacturing or situational awareness going on. It's just go-to-the-plate and swing as hard as you can.
A&M's opponents:
10 stolen bases
3 sac flies
7 sac bunts

This goes back to last year too...opposing staffs are well aware of our propensity/strategy to watch cheese right over the plate in an effort to work counts deeper, so not only are a lot of our guys not making quality at bats early in the season, they're inviting unfavorable counts to have to battle out of.
I would agree if Earley inherited a gutted roster or something. But this team is stacked with talent and experience and is teetering on being unranked.Bryanisbest said:
Way too early for these funereal comments about Earley and Aggie baseball. Wow! Just wow!

For those saying they are done, does that mean you won't be coming to this board anymore?
You're not wrong. It is time to get **** going. But too many on here and premium are also being way over the top negative. Not you. You made a reasonable post-there are real concerns right now. Saying we are "done" in early March is too early just like saying there are no concerns is ignoring the product to date on the field.Ag13 said:Capitol Ag said:
How exactly are we toast?
I still totally believe this team finds itself. Stop worrying, go to bed. Get ready for tomorrow night.
Not toast yet but we are getting pretty close to needing to worry about making the tournament at all which is wild to say at the beginning of March. Turning it around in conference play will be a large task to say the least.
Count me as one who bailed to the basketball game....and glad I did.Wabs said:Basketball game against #1 Auburn probably had a little to do with that.houstonaggie76 said:

the takeaway is the 7 sac bunts by A&M's opponents
they are aware of the bad defense

I am not saying the team is toast and it is definitely still very early in the season.
However, the biggest issue is that it is really hard to get out of a slump if you keep getting kicked while you are down. I'm really glad they won last night.
Let's look at upcoming games..you've got 4 games before things start getting spicy and no real break except midweeks for the rest of the season. If Things aren't looking better by the Alabama series, its going to be really really hard to find a time to get momentum together.
While I think it is too early write off the '25 iteration of Fightin' Texas Aggie Baseball, this is a "truism" for MLB that really does not fit college ball. Keep in mind when SEC play starts next weekend, the competition significantly picks up so I understand the apprehension but not the over the top angst of fans. The weekend rotation looks stout so that should give us a shot at winning weekends especially if the right combination of relievers can be found. Of course getting the bats closer to what was advertised would do wonders.Quote:
The Aggies baseball is not done. If you know baseball, teams usually win 1/3, lose 1/3, and the other 1/3 makes the difference
I think it's counterproductive to accuse people that are worried (for good reasons) about this team of not being fans. Fans blindly slurping down everything A&M athletics gives us without demanding more is a large reason we haven't won a big 3 national championship since 1939.JERRwAYNE said:

Fans that have already given up on the team and Mike Early are not fans.
Bless their hatin' little hearts.
Gig'em Ags
Absolute 100% unadulterated BS. Try something other than blaming fans who support the team through good times and bad. They are not the problem. The bandwagon fans, on the other hand, do nothing to support the team.Quote:

The same sentiment is expressed when Ags give millions and supposedly we lose because they are too nice, twk said:Absolute 100% unadulterated BS. I have never understood how it is the loyal fan's fault

It's not.

I don't know much… but it's not past the realm of possibility that some of these players may be regretting their decision to stay when they had other choices.
