Didn't the sips start talking to POS about this time last year? Trev needs to start right now looking for next year's coach. Wouldn't mind if we considered the coach that just swept us. Bring him back to his home state....

Also the pitching coach (the three starters are excellent but huge questions about everyone else.)

THIS is the only productive thing we can do at this point.

Earley knows he needs new or dfferent players

this is not a good roster position player-wise by SEC standards
With Sorrell and Grahovac, it would be a fine roster. There's nothing subpar talent-wise with regard to Laviolette in center, Henseler at third, Kent at short (he's not got the range of Camarillo, but he's fine), and Kash at first. Having a couple of freshman in the lineup in Kiel and Farr might not be optimal for this year, but without the injuries, neither would be playing. You don't expect catcher to carry you at the plate (we were spoiled with Appel last year).

The roster is OK. The results are not.

I wish I could find the interview, but he definitely said he didn't even want to be a HC at this point in his career AFTER he accepted the HC position at Texas A&M. I think he felt obligated when the offer was made but he still wanted to have a position on a staff for a couple more years before making the leap.
I don't believe I ever saw that interview, but recall him saying in his introduction that he believed he was the right guy and was built for this moment. I am paraphrasing, but he certainly was confident in the moment.

He looks absolutely defeated. I feel bad for him.

Our problems aren't in the field. Sure we have some errors but we did last year too.

It's all about the offense and we look lost at the plate. Tell Longley to take a hike and get in there, Earley

That's all I have heard about him is how confident and ready for this he was

This is my take.

I don't think that Snausageburger was the reason why our bats were so good last year.

There is one area of the game that needs some focus, and its an area that Early seems to have been good at.

Time to focus on the problem, and delegate everything else.

It's still early in the season. But, the ship needs to turn.

In Tony Vitello's first year as the head coach at Tennessee, his record was 29-27. His second year record was 40-21, but he was only 14-16 in conference play. His third year, he was 13-0 before Covid cancelled the season. It was in the fourth year when he exploded onto the scene. He was 57-9 overall and 25-5 in the SEC while winning National Coach of the Year.

I present this only as a "step back from the edge" moment for all A&M fans. Earley may very well become the next Tony V., but it will require patience and support. If Tennessee had turned on Tony in year one, there would likely be no sixty win season, no SEC championships, and no Natty trophy on display. The journey has definitely been worth the trouble! A&M has the resources, the fanbase, and the support facilities to do the same thing.

Vitello stepped into a program that hadn't had a winning SEC record in 12 years and hadn't made postseason in 6 years. Not st all the same.

All things considered I'd say he's doing a pretty good job. 2.94 team ERA.

The roster is fine. All these kids that are playing have played well enough to deserve a spot at Texas A&M. No, this lineup is not stacked full of dominant players, but we can still be a very productive team. We see Stanford, Arizona, Vanderbilt, Etc.…

Every team has freshman that are filling gaps in the roster. Every team is going to struggle with injuries, so we need to stop looking for excuses and instead, coach these players up for success. I get the feeling that these players are not being coached or drilled. All is removed from their abilities. Your practices should be so difficult and challenging that game time is where you get loose and enjoy yourself.

I was wondering... what if Earley assumed hitting again, and Jason Kelly did HC/pitching (eff a title, let's just try something)? Maybe it's the never-been-a-head coach pressure? Kelly's been one. I'd try anything at this point.

We're not asking our opposition to feel bad for him. But this interview is extremely hard to watch.

There are two major points or questions:
Often younger coaches still talk to their former bosses for guidance. After listening to Vitello, my guess is that snake is not an option for any coach mentorship. So, where can Earley turn for mentorship early in his career?

I know players are off limits for post-game interviews, but maybe they should be a part of this. Allow them to take on leadership and ownership.
In fact, players have been giving interviews after losses all season.

Obviously.

But then why compare Earley's first year with Vitello's first year when those are completely different situations?

This is not all on the coach.

Established D-1 players like LaViolette, Schott, Kent and Henseler should be enough to get an offense going.

Instead, they were a combined 6-for-43 against Alabama.

They're pressing / trying too hard at the plate, like Yogi says,

"95% of this game is half-mental."

They'll start hitting, they're too good not to, however this needs to happen sooner than later.
