So what made people think the worst baseball team in the conference was number one in the country just a month ago?
From hearing what others around the game have said about him, talking with people who know the game well and know college ball well. I think Earley has what it takes, but we are really going to have to see programmatic improvements in year 2.

Product even with the injuries is just abysmal and not remotely acceptable for an SEC coach. Firing him with the team this bad would not be a bad look it would be clear he got a shot because of the roster and he blew it. This is a premium baseball job and we have time to do a real search and not ask guys to come in a week before the portal closes. I would not be worried about having your next hire lined up before you fire Earley.

A little uncomfortable for me to be positive but Jace staying on top of the baseball and Schott hitting the ball the other way are good signs those two are going to start getting back to themselves. Just unlucky that Kent has gone cold as Jace starts hitting.
Really need Sorrell back to give this lineup some depth and to move TK2 back to the seven spot. Hopefully he is available next weekend.

How much emphasis does earley and staff put on the mental side of the game? He's a pos but the previous coach reallly worked on the mental side

He hasn't got on much in SEC play and you can't complain with what the 2.3 hitters did tonight either. I'd say it is time to put Kiel in that spot but he was 0fer for the night also.
