Agreed. I think tonight might have been the kill shot. He's been given plenty of rope and yes, I know he got dealt a crappy hand with the injuries. But this program, this team should never sink as low as getting run ruled and no hit. NEVER. On a ESiPN national broadcast no less. The level of stench in this whole athletic department right now is at an all time low and I've been following A&M athletics for over 40 years. Thank you Trisha and the track team for giving us at least a couple of beams of sunshine
Let's just come out and say it. This is Baylor-tier type mismanagement **** going on in our AD.

We better wake the **** up soon, or else we could be spending our time wandering the desert for 30 years like they did.

Trev has taken a wrecking ball to whatever advantage we had since 2012.

If coach Fran hit me up with a newsletter invite and claimed that he was sent here to do so on purpose, I would probably subscribe to hear more about it...

We just hired a coach in basketball from a school I have never heard of that has high school junior varsity credentials in his resume write-up.
You've never heard of Samford? You new to college sports?

Sorry Earley, I wanted you to have this amazing story made of movies.

Fact is, you are a poor HC.
Fact is, this is a talented baseball team that looks like they suck arse.
Fact is, it was a experiment of pure failure.

We would have been better off hiring a coach with a lot of experience and tenure that would have won more games with this entire lineup at Texas.

I hate saying this but it is the hard truth. I refused to accept it as a lover of this team and sports.

But that's it.

Time to move on and if our AD doesnt land a HUGE HR hire with this much advanced notice? We are royally screwed.

I am pissed and this entire team sucks terrible. Let them all leave...every single one of them. PISSED. No excuses whatsoever. Clueless staff.

What a debbie downer. Give the coach at least 2 years to make an accurate assessment. We will be just fine and have always been good at baseball.

It is cute though that some are acting as if they knew or were confident Earley would turn things around after an absolute colossal failure.

He still needs to get to Omaha to prove his worth in my opinion. He's got a loaded team and had one from the moment he took over

I called for him to not get another year after the horrific Tennessee Friday night and 1-9 conference start. I think we make a regional now with how we are playing but We need to win a regional for this season to be a success to me.

Vaughn's Bama team is 2-6 in this same period with series losses at Auburn, home vs Clanga, and at LSU (where they might get swept tomorrow). He didn't suddenly forget how to coach or become a bad coach, baseball is just hard. Especially in the SEC.

Truly not saying this to spike the football on anyone here, just a casual reminder of how difficult and cruel this sport can be.

You better have your mental game ready because this sport will humble you very quickly.

Well your post was pretty freaking stupid. Earley didn't get time to recruit the portal, and we lost incoming guys to Schloss who we needed and then we even had injuries. So you sounded stupid as hell saying to get rid of our coach who hasn't even had a portal season and who is stuck with the dumpster pitching that Schloss left him.

About a 95% chance that ain't happening with the pitching staff that's healthy that we got. So learn roster mgmt and how our coach didn't have enough time after last season to replace the holes Schloss left us there and in the 1-9 roster too after injuries.

To be elite in this game, you need to be solid in all 3 phases.

Childress focused on pitching primarily. While we were a good team in that focus, we were never elite.

Schloss focused on all 3.

It appears Earley does as well.
Starting pitching has been up to par.

The other three phases were not until the start of this run. ALL have improved.

Which coaches would not be willing to switch rosters with us, even with the injuries? I think you could probably count them on one hand, certainly two.

People get dug in on positions on coaches, and that doesn't really make for great discussion. I'm sure there are a lot decisions Earley would like to have a mulligan, but, decisions get easier when players start playing with confidence, which is what we (and all the experts) were expecting. I'm looking forward to the rest of the season.

I am beyond thrilled that we have turned it around.

But piling on people who were questioning what was going on is not the way to go. It's not a bandwagon issue either. It was a serious look at what was happening in the program. Many acknowledged the injuries, but early in we had different issues each series. Bad defense. Bad pitching. And even worse hitting. We have a top roster in the SEC. Asking what was going on was valid. Disappointment was valid. Both Earley and the team have responded to adversity, which is a great sign of both grit and character.

In the interviews after the loss at Tennessee, both Wyatt and TK said the team was embarrassed.TK said that Earley told the team they should be embarrassed. They (the team) knew things were bad. And Wyatt said when they started to play loose it turned around.

Some mentioned the differences we saw in games 2 & 3 against Tenn. The at bats were better, they were not pressing. I made arguments that our issues were in part injuries, but also mental. Playing loose has helped the mental part of the game. Taking better at bats.

I'm glad they turned it around, and I'm glad Earley helped the players to find their edge. The start of the season had plenty of growing pains. I'm glad we are finding our footing.

I've always believed this team had it in them. Most of us knew their potential. The last three weekends is what we have all expected since August.

We lost our top 3 bullpen arms from last season. All of them were elite in Ascenback, Cortez, and Stewart. With Stewart healthy, he would have been joined by Moss and Wilson to re-create a dominant pen. However, Stewart is hurt, and Wilson has underachieved.

However, college baseball is a long season, and the biggest thing that happened this weekend was seeing Jackson emerge as an A-level arm, and Wilson having a good inning. Adding in the lock down effort from Moss, and the job Rudis did shutting down USC last weekend, the pen may become a strength. This changes everything, because it will allow the 3 very good LH starters to go all-out. With the deep lineups in this league, getting 5 innings with 3 or fewer runs is a good result, and Earley can afford to have a quick hook.

Winning series is a battle of attrition, and this weekend laid the blueprint for the rest of the season.

I ate the biggest crow ever seen following the next 2 games against TN. Admittedly and came back to accept my punishment shortly after that, VERY emotional post.

I am rarely am negative about any of our teams. I let that attitude go years ago with Jimbo was HC.

However, baseball is so very important to me and my sons. I coach their select teams, and we have never missed an A&M baseball game (either on TV or Blue Bell) since 2021 (unless not televised). We spend entire weekends in our RV at Blue Bell and follow them on road games. I have so many cherished moments with my family. We have attended every Regional or Super since 2021.

This year, I planned our entire 4 week trip to kick-off in Omaha for 10 days. And the emotions just kept building and building after every game (prior to TN series). I still had hope but knew this team HAD to beat TN or it was over. And then the Good guys got the living crap kicked out of them during Game 1. Yep, I was done in my head with this team.....because I couldn't take any more. Freaking depressing as we planned a lot based on this baseball team and new coach.

So lay it on me. I'd call myself out 100%!!! But also hope some of the more level headed posters that have been watching A&M baseball for 20+ years can share some perspective with me. And the irony? No one seemed to disagree with me that night. And if you were being honest, the majority felt that same.

Luckily, that horrific game changed everything for this team.

And my lesson learned is, don't jump on a keyboard immediately following what one the worse A&M baseball games you have witnessed in years.

GigEm. And see you in Omaha!

This.
I still worry if our defense has improved enough. Still lots of things we need to clean up. Especially concerned about outfield if we start to experience injuries. After Sorrell, Violence, and Kiel our options have been shaky. Probably our current Achilles with bullpen depth running a close second.
