If we play like we did in the last couple of games we can beat just about anybody. Question I have if we somehow turn the corner do you have time to get back into this thing?
Didn't watch the games in full yesterday but heard announcers say several times that just the first win yesterday brought RPI up over 30 positions and acted like the second win would get us in top 50. Mentioned if we got some more good wins then possible to keep season alive. I'm sure someone will chime in with better information shortly, but I was happy to hear there was still a shot!BTHOB-98 said:

One of the storylines for the Rebels throughout the season was the future of coach Mike Bianco, who was under fire in his 22nd year when his team sat at 22-17 overall and 7-14 in SEC play on May 1.
But Ole Miss edged out NC State for the final at-large bid and won on the road in the regionals and super regionals. The Rebels finished the season on a 20-6 run, including 10-1 in the national tournament.

I won't get too excited about the impact of this win. While it was a wonderful win, this team has proven to be very bad and lack baseball fundamentals. I hope I am wrong.

More specifically, what RPI do we need at the end of the season to make a regional? I know it's not an exact science given some automatic qualifiers.

There are 31 automatic qualifiers. I think anything outside of the top 45 will be dicey.

We know the team has ability and heart.
Now all we need is a little luck.
May the odds be in our favor.
Historically the committee has liked to punish SEC teams with bad conference records and middle of the road RPIs. There have been multiple 13 conference win SEC teams with RPIs in the low 30s that haven't made the tournament.MagnumLoad said:

SEC added 2 more Top10 teams last offseason from the Big12. Now a 13-17 record will easily get you in, and a 12-18 record would get you in if you had a good non-conference record.Sea Pony 07 said:
We have to win 10 more conference games to be on the higher side of iffy and 11 would be ideal. Ideally we sweep mizzou and south Carolina and then don't get swept. That would put us at 13-17. To be safe we need a series win with lsu, tu, arkie or Georgia to get to 14-16.
These numbers are based off past seasons.

We have enough time but it'll require a sweep of Mizzou, win series over SC, and then going .500 for the big series (LSU, arky, tu and UGA)
SC 2-1
Arky 1-2
t.u. 1-2
LSU 2-1
Mizz 3-0
UGA 2-1
That would get us 14-16 in SEC play. That gets us in for sure as long as we don't lose anymore midweeks
