Press the down arrow on the remote. If that gives a pop-up at the bottom with a line for the progress of the show, you should be able to use the left and right arrows to highlight the ff and rew arrows - it shows a larger, double arrow. Press the OK button to cycle through 2,4,8x speed.

Bottom of the ninth is around 3:53 or so.
