Radar does not look good for a resumption unfortunately. Monster shield of moderate to heavy rain still to go through Knoxville.

looks like tomorrow morning is the best chance to resume. The game is in delay and will remain that way until completed or A&M's travel time hits. They may have sit around all day tomorrow waiting

Tomorrow looks really dicey too, though.

6.17 Called Game 6.17.1 The plate umpire shall declare a called game if, after five or more innings have been completed, he/she terminates play (for reasons such as lightning, darkness, rain, fire, panic or other causes that place the spectators or players in danger). The score shall be that of the last equal inning played, except that in the following circumstances, the score of the game shall be the total number of runs that each team has scored: 6.17.1.1 If the home team has scored more runs at the end of its fourth inning than the visiting team has scored in its five offensive half innings. 6.17.1.2 If the home team has scored, in an unequal number of innings, more runs than the visiting team. 6.17.1.3 If a team is ahead by eight or more runs after five innings, or if the home team is at least eight runs ahead after 4 innings

Is there a major benefit to being a Top 4 seed vs seeded 5-8? Besides getting an easier opponent in the Supers? Wasn't sure if it'd determine when we'd play the Sooners in Omaha, for instance. Forgive me if already asked & answered..

Higher the seed, the more protected you should be.

I doubt anyone is thinking that far ahead.

However 1,4,5 and 8 start in one bracket. 2.3,6 and 7 in the other. One of the main differences between baseball and softball is the loser of the 1-0 game switches brackets.

However I suspect the top 4 reference is the double bye in the SEC tournament and has nothing to do with NCAA tournament

If we don't complete this game and seeds hold for the semis in the SEC it will be A&M-Tenn and OU-Texas. That will be 2 fun games to watch

I honestly don't know what the rules are about early starts, but they should have started this game an hour or so ago.

Looking at the radar, the rain begins about the time they're supposed to start. There looks to be a gap in the early afternoon for a bit then solid rain until tomorrow.

When she came out of the dugout she was pointing into our dugout and saying something about hearing people in our dugout saying her name. You couldn't really hear exactly what she was mad about, but she was yelling at Ford about it and saying it was "bullsh**".

All I could hear from Ford was telling her to stop yelling but also said "I will."

My thought was that as soon as the first rain drop appeared, Weekly was going to try and get the game stopped and everyone knew that. Maybe someone in our dugout said something about that - loudly perhaps to get in her head?

Assuming we actually restart at 9:30, do we know if it will be streaming / on tv?

Sip will win today and finish at 16-8, which is .667.

Given Ags were just at bat, I wonder if it was 3rd base coach saying something near Tenn dugout during the inning. Seemed like Weekly came from her dugout and wouldn't have heard anything from inside ours during the top of the half.

Both our base coaches have had words with the opposing teams during the season, so it wouldn't be out of character. Also, Weekly needs to get a thicker skin.

Weekly is one of those that's always been like that.

The SEC has several coaches that constantly stop games to whine and argue.

Weekly, Torina and White are the worst. Walton and Murphy can be bad at times as well.

I hate the stalling tactic where the coach leaves the dugout to argue minutiae once their team loses momentum. Umpires have the power to stop it but they rarely do.

Clint Meyers was the worst I've ever seen at that. I hated him at Auburn, always disrupting games when stuff didn't go his way. Absolute scumbag who deserved the way his career ended.

Looking at it closer, Tennessee is locked into a top 4 double-bye finish.

If Tenn wins today, assuming sip wins, they'll be tied with sip for 2nd place but will have the tiebreaker.

Having looked it, Tenn does have something to play for and they probably do want to play and try and pull off the comeback to finish 2nd, for whatever that's worth.

Overall, for both of us, playing this game makes little difference except for who we get to play on Thursday.

I was not sure what she was hot about. I assumed it was the timing of when they called the game. Forcing her team to play in the rain and not us. However I would not be surprised if one of our coaches popped off about her refusing to make a decision on the double header on Thursday and then making it late enough that game 2 was always in doubt.
