I hated that approach when we were playing that guy at tcu, but I loved it just as much when it was us. It's very much a "might lose the battle but I'm going to win the war" approach. Still absolutely unfathomable that ME went away from this so much this year and seeing first-hand how much stress it puts on the other side and how it puts your guys in position to hit.

My only thought is he thought (as did I with my stupid HR thread) we were going to hit 150 HR this year. Still don't understand how we are here.

You could flip it on its head. Schloss took TCU to 5 CWS since 2010 with a record of 11-10.

A&M had been to the CWS 6 times since 1951 with a record of 2-12 (including losing to TCU in 2017 in the CWS, 2015 and 16 in super regionals, and in the 2012 CS regional).

TCU was absolutely killing A&M as far as baseball. What did TCU fans do to deserve him bailing? It wasn't business it was for personal reasons.

So A&M benefited to the tune of two CWS in three years and a 5-4 record. Poaching him from TCU resulted in more than double the total CWS wins A&M ever had (but still less than half he had at TCU). That seems more blessing than curse even if short lived.

When he bailed again it was just like at TCU. A&M had been thrashing Texas, but it wasn't business it was for personal reasons.

This was my nightmare scenario. SMDH

I lived in KC for 17 years. The Royals sucked all that time, and the Chiefs were meh (pre-Mahomes). I move back to Texas in 2013, and the Royals go to back-to-back World Series in 2014 (lost) and 2015 (won). We all know about the Chiefs run.

LSU losing to their former coach that had been retired and his team stinking it up is pretty funny.

Tigers have some misery of their own.
