I didn't say they don't matter,I said they don't mean as much. You make a good point about RPI. Think series vs LSU, Texas, Georgia, and OU define the season more. Just my opinion.

Sparks has pitched in several games, Brown has not. Maybe we will see Brown in this tournament.

Sparks has 2 appearances - 1st game against Duke and also against Providence.

Brown hasn't gotten in yet not even in junk time against teams we were run ruling.

I wouldn't be surprised to see Sparks get the start against UC San Diego tomorrow.

It isn't an either / or with the games in these tournaments against the quality opponents and those SEC games you mention. Why not choose both?

And there is absolutely a time and place for all of our arms in these games. The question today is what do you do late in a 1-1 tied game.

I think you definitely choose both. And I appreciate you touching on what I'm saying about seeing what you have in the stable by working the horses. I think Coach is still trying to define the identity that is this years pitching staff vs last years. That's it.

Texags is legendary for not allowing any time for a team to 1) find an identity, 2) gel as a unit & 3) learn teammates, teammate's moves, idiosyncrasies, strengths, weaknesses, etc. No patience whatsoever, none, "Why aren't they winning??????"........ which is kind of hard to take for some of us.

Just win right from the get-go, new team with transfers & freshman........my favorite one was:
"Our pitching is not SEC quality" or some nonsense after 1 bad day playing two top 15 ranked teams, back-to-back. First day of the 2nd weekend of the season with 1 positional player returning!!!! I laughed and laughed at that one.

Duke has a ridiculous schedule to start non-conference this season.

Through this weekend they'll have played A&M twice (current ESPN/USA Today ranking - No. 13), LSU (No. 17), Oklahoma St. (No. 19), Georgia (No. 12), OU (No. 4), UCLA (No. 11), and Oregon (No. 14).

The Blue Devils are currently 9-4 and would probably feel pretty good about finishing that gauntlet at 10-6 (OU, UCLA, and Oregon awaiting).
