Because it is mostly true. Show me where a non-league foe hurt us enough to keep us out of the tourney, form hosting or a from a top 8 seed.
Every year there's examples where winning a game against a team like this is actually a negative on your RPI…so by logic not playing at all is actually better for your RPI.
Not what I asked for, where has a win kept us from being in the tourney, hosting or a top seed?
All top programs have teams like this on their slate. This is Oakland's 8th straight game against ranked SEC opponents.

I'm aware everyone plays them. I'm also not aware of a specific single game that cost us because obviously the committee would never cite something like that. My original statement was that this hurts your RPI more than just not playing the game

Yes, which I think is ridiculous

100%. You have to win in the SEC but if you do none of this matters.
Exactly! See POS first season here. Weak OCS, did not not do well, killed it in conference so still a top seed.
You must forget how late in the season that year we cancelled a mid week game that most knew was because POS was playing the RPI long game

If they call it at 5.5 innings will it revert to 8-0 and Bindy's HR not count?

My understanding is if the game is called with the home team leading by the bottom of the 5th inning, the final score is based on all runs scored up until the game is called. As such, Bindy's moonshot of a HR would count.

Because we effed up against weak opponents early in the season. Yet the SEC put us in the TOP 8. If we took care of business early on, POS would not have needed to pull off any such balderdash to make sure we kept that seed.
