Always wondered why the mods protect him in spite of him trolling. People like him (and the mod response) are why I stopped paying for this site. I hope it was worth it!

his first year last year and he lost 3 of his best players offensively for some or all basically. Not really fair to give him an honest assessment of year one when you consider no GG, No Sorrell and No Jace for much of the season. But to me it was more telling in the kids that wanted to be there for him.

Jace playing with the broken bone in his hand and trying to do everything he could to help us to post season.

This year we have been mostly injury free on the offense and it shows.

Gavin was out the entire season

Sorrell played in 8 of our 10 conference series

Jace broke his hand in the SEC tournament

And Hayden Schott, maybe our most clutch hitter in 2024, played on one good leg.

With the same knee injury that he played through in 2024

On no good leg. He wore knee braces on both by the end of the year

And Sdao (our Friday guy) was rehabbing Tommy John and Josh Stewart got hurt early. It is what it is.

I knew he was trash after last year's big fat failure. Now its time to give a big fat "i told you so"

Yo, where you at?

These early-season hot takes are always funny when they blow up in the poster's face.

Earley and this team managed this weekend. But, im sure you know better and its just a mater of time before this lemon wont crank again. Don't do this to yourself

"Managed?" lol.

Showing a little humility when you've been proven wrong is actually a strength....

No one has been proven right or wrong on Earley yet, there is still a lot of season left to go. It looks a lot better than it did a few weeks ago I'll admit that though

I think the "he's a completely incompetent failure" crew has been proven wrong. Definitely still a question of whether he is the long term answer as head coach.

I might have agreed with this response last season, but watching Gavin and Sorrell lead this team right now, some injuries are more key than others.

I don't disagree with that....but there are an awful lot of teams that can hit well enough to make a regional with only two first round pick/All-American candidates instead of three

I agree we need better pitching -- my understanding is the new technology coming in will help us do exactly that. We can still lock this thread.

As an aside, I think getting 5 *proven aces* is a pipe dream -- they will go where they are guaranteed to start. 2-3 is very realistic once we have the proper enticements in place.

I hate these threads and all these reactionary Ags that at the end of the day ride purely on emotions but tend to know very little about the sports itself.

Shocked, well not really, some DB started this thread just last month? Really? I never thought for a second Earley wasn't doing nothing but a very good job this season. I have been a bit concerned about the reliance on slugging and driving in runs but it has been pretty damn clear, if you know baseball, they were improving and most importantly getting HEALTHY AGAIN. Last year, we were devastated. Early season this year was better but still lots of critical injuries.

"Eliminatus10:03p, 3/20/26
I'll say this. (Quasi pumper here)

My biggest critique of Earley is that we simply have no identity under him. I mean, zero. It just feels we throw out a disjointed bag of parts onto the field every game and hope they all mash into something that will give us a win. This extends all the way to the beginning of last season too so that is why I am so concerned about it."

How about their identity today? If you don't think they dont have one, not sure what team you watch. This is clearly an Earley team that fights and punishes pitchers.

Earley is proving himself as a young, upcoming HC star if you ask me. I wouldn't be surprised if he takes SEC Coach of the Year is this trending continues.

And yes...next year....let's improve the bullpen. We aren't the only ones thats for sure. And losing Stewart is so PAINFUL.

You hate these threads but type a thesis response, interesting.

As far as what you type about identity. I'm sure Earley is trying to figure it out and I'm sure it will change as he gains more experience. I personally hope he doesn't just focus on one area. The best coaches try to have all 3 phases of the game at a high level.

You can make fun of that statement all you want but focusing on an identity typically just makes one area great. Such as RC and pitching during his tenure here. Several college coaches do not give proper attention to all 3.

The Early turnaround has been fun to watch. Has he made mistakes, sure, but he's also made some good decisions. Also love the fire in the dugout.

Plate approach and fielding have done a complete 180 from last year as we are top 5 in pretty much every hitting stat in the SEC, and last in total errors. Getting rid of Longley was probably his best decision along with hiring Cliff to help with fielding.

Pitching wise we're still middle of the pack, but we dont walk alot but we give up a ton of taters. Honestly feel like we throw too many strikes and dont force batters to swing at bad pitches.

Honestly, you can be stellar at all 3 and still lose, happens all the time. Most important state, scoring tuns, something this team does pretty well.
