Im mostly talking about bagged veggies, milk, cheese and other things in the refrigerator that I grab and eat with out cooking.BowSowy said:Are you talking about things like groceries that you bring into your home? Non-perishables should be fine if you wipe them down and let them sit on the shelf for a day or two. Perishables should be good if you cook them (I believe I've read there's no known transmission through cooked food).Tx-Ag2010 said:That was my thought as well. It might not be 99.9% but its probably 90%+. I guess ill start soaking stuff for 5 min in a 1% sodium hypochlorite solution.BowSowy said:I'm far from an expert, so take it with a gigantic grain of salt. Assuming you're talking about sanitizing something that you're not going to be constantly touching, I think you'd be okay with a Clorox wipe followed by washing your hands.Tx-Ag2010 said:I have been bathing in hand sanitizer... I just had a personal panic attack after reading the back of Clorox wipes... apparently you have to use enough wipes to make sure the surface is wet for 4 minutes in order to sanitize the the surface well... We are getting out 1-2x's a week to go to the store between shopping for us and getting stuff my inlaws/parents need that they were not able to order.
I found a huge thing of TP at Lowe's CS Wednesday about 3PM. Twice last week I passed up Clorox wipes and now I am kicking myself for it.
We wipe everything down that comes into the house with a clorox wipe and throw packaging away when not needed. I then wipe down cabinets & door handles and then take a shower/change clothes.
I wipe down everything in my car that I touch after leaving a store and use hand sanitizer.
What kinda BS marketing allows them to make claims that they kill 99.9% of virus if allowed to be damp for 4 min when the wipe evaporates within 15-20 seconds even fresh out of the box.
I don't plan on eating any perishables that aren't included in a recipe for the next couple months...
