I think that would be a very good way to get everything to open back up. I don't know what you would do at restaurants, but maybe someone had an idea.
I don't think a lot of people either get the point of gloves, or realize how useless they can be if you are not consciously tracking every little thing those gloves do.Willy Wonka said:
The thing that gets me at restaurants is the fact that they're wearing gloves but they handle the money from every person that comes through that drive through and passes the food to every car without ever changing.
They may protect the worker but they ensure that the customer is screwed.
The problem is, a family of 5 now can't eat out but everyone else can? We'll obviously have to have some rules in place, but I don't think you'll see a max capacity at a table because far too many people have 3 or 4 kids. Probably just a mass capacity in the building. Or a certain percentage per square feet.CardiffGiant said:
I can see restaurants doing something like no more than 4 to a table and the tables are 6 ft away from each other. Going to look a little weird but hey you'll have more privacy during your dinner conversation.
Yeah, that's a little scary. That said, how do we know they aren't required to dispose of them every 15 minutes or so? Obviously I doubt many are, but there's no real way to know if you are just going through a drive thru and then don't see what happened before/after.Willy Wonka said:

And that's the excuse they can use to make everything paperless.beerad12man said:Yeah, that's a little scary. That said, how do we know they aren't required to dispose of them every 15 minutes or so? Let restaurants and customers decide by using the free market.
NO GUIDELINES FROM BUREAUCRATS
I'm of a similar mindset, but if it makes it better to open more things up, I'll wear a mask or face cover when I'm in buildings and deal with that through May or June rather than the alternative.aTm2004 said:
No. If a store requires it then I will go to a store the doesn't. There's a risk to living and I'm willing to take that risk over having to remember to wear a mask that I haven't needed for 38 years.

I'll consider it if they put a firm end date on it. If it's one of those open ended things, I'm not for that. People need to stop living in fear over everything. It's crazy how fast people were willing to give up their freedom just to feel safe. A generation ago, people looked death and fear in the face to ensure we kept the freedoms we have. Now, it's "oh, well, if it means I'm safer, go ahead and take all of this away..."Tony Franklins Other Shoe said:I'm of a similar mindset, but if it makes it better to open more things up, I'll wear a mask or face cover when I'm in buildings and deal with that through May or June rather than the alternative.aTm2004 said:

I saw the same thing at one of our smaller chain fast food places. I left a comment on their website suggesting the cashier should never touch the food/drinks and the local owner contacted me the next day saying they had changed their procedures based on the comment.Willy Wonka said:

Go for it. That's your choice and I won't judge you for it. All I ask is for you not to judge me or others like me who understand life has risks.Squadron7 said:aTm2004 said:

I figure any mask I'm wearing doesn't do me that much good...but does help look out for the guy next to me.
So, for the near future anyway. A mask it is.
I spoke with someone who works at our local Texas Roadhouse. While they have been doing takeout only during this time, they have been making some changes in the dining area to provide more room and also adding plastic barriers between the booths. He said they plan on only seating every other table when they re-open.CardiffGiant said:

This feels very naive to me.aTm2004 said:I'll consider it if they put a firm end date on it. If it's one of those open ended things, I'm not for that. Ever spoken with a WWII vet who lied about their age to fight to protect the freedoms people today gave up so easily?TXAggie2011 said:This feels very naive to me.aTm2004 said:I'll consider it if they put a firm end date on it. Past generations adopted pages upon pages of health and safety regulations that many current day Americans might not even realize exist.
And by the way, I'm all for mask requirements having end dates/mandatory reviews attached to them.
This is disgusting and perverted.aTm2004 said:

the purpose of the mask is to protect others and not yourself. it is to prevent the spread of the virus.aTm2004 said:Go for it. That's your choice and I won't judge you for it. All I ask is for you not to judge me or others like me who understand life has risks.Squadron7 said:aTm2004 said:

You missed my entire point in this circle jerk. If my grandfather was a live today, he would rather catch the virus and die vs. giving up his freedom to live a normal life. I'm sure if you asked your father's generation, they'd say the same thing. That's not disgusting or perverted. That's the truth. You're happy to give up the freedom his generation ensured for us. I'm not.TheAngelFlight said:This is disgusting and perverted.aTm2004 said:

My father's generation sacrificed everything in the Pacific and Europe. Don't invoke them to justify you're not wanting to sacrifice the public's full view of your mouth and nose.
My grandfather's generation put masks on to go fight in the trenches. You can put on a mask to go eat your fancy dinner.
Then wear your mask. As I stated, I won't judge you so don't judge me. Freedom isn't always rosy. Sometimes it's ugly.4133 said:the purpose of the mask is to protect others and not yourself. it is to prevent the spread of the virus.aTm2004 said:Go for it.
