Maybe i just don't hang around too many people, but never once has anyone outside asked me to wear one. Even at Randolph AFB which abides by federal rules and not Texas or Bexar county ones.

It's funny last week you all were saying the CDC needs to provide this incentive for people to get the vaccine and it will help get people vaccinated. Now those same people are talking about how this changes nothing and means nothing and you still won't get the vaccine.

Just as a caution, falsifying such a vaccine card is technically a federal felony. The likelihood of ever being in a scenario where lying about this risks meaningful consequences are very small, and even then the chances of getting caught even smaller, but such things aren't unheard of. This isn't like speeding hoping you don't get caught.

Merely stating that a law exists doesn't constitute giving legal advice. Giving legal advice would be me recommending what to do if one was charged with such a crime. The federal code is very clear on this and can be looked up instantly online by anyone. Moreover, multiple people have already been charged with forging vaccine cards.

The medical analogy would be "pancreatic cancer exists" vs "here's what you should do if you get pancreatic cancer".

My initial post on the topic did specify I was talking about these vaccine cards specifically.

Forging a child's vaccine records for public school use is a state crime, as these are generally tracked at the state level. In most cases of this occurring it's usually parents forging physician signatures, since most vaccine records come from individual physical offices or hospital systems and not state registries (which are usually optional).

Regarding retail and restaurants, I think most are tired of policing their policy so actually I expect most to just recommend masking or drop any type of suggestions all together. But I'm in TX and that has already been the case where I live.

As for ID cards, the vaccinated already have them. I'm optimistic that the government will not try to enforce a vaccine passport just b/c there seems to be enough bipartisan support against such a thing and I still think it would be very tough to administer at this point. Hope I'm right.

I spent 17 years in retail operations before leaving it in 2017. I read a lot of people say they wear masks out of respect for employees and the companies. Dont do that. The employees hate it and would love nothing more than to see every single customer ignore the rule.

Want to do the employees at Home Depot and Wal Mart and HEB a favor? Stop wearing masks.

Exactly. The people doing it out of respect have no idea they are actually makig things worse for many who just want to start moving on. There's nothing virtuous about it, other than in their own minds.

Not to mention they never really worked in the first place, making it all the more frustrating. If masks were some miracle pill, I might understand it more.

I have been thanked quietly on quite a few occasions by clerks for not wearing a mask. They say, "the sooner shoppers stop wearing them, the sooner we can stop wearing them."

No joke the checker and bagger at HEB thanked me for not wearing a mask today. I was shocked for about 5 seconds and said no problem. It was the only comment i even got about not wearing a mask. They went on to say that if more people stopped wearing them then they'd be able to stop sooner.

I also noticed when I walked by the warehouse or whatever you call the area on the side where they bring out the pallets that not a single employee back there had on a mask. There must have been six of them shooting the **** back there. Not a single one wearing a mask.

I was surprised by the hesitancy of people to shed the masks back in March. It was almost always me and another random person not wearing one. But today... Today I saw 7 or 8 other customers without one. I assume the CDC announcement finally gave some people a push to stop wearing them. And I think as more and more people see others not wearing them then others will get courage and follow.

Both Costco and Trader Joe's have dropped mask requirements. Covid is now in the grave. The about face on this is mind blowing. Just weeks after the cdc director cried impending doom and they put out that helpful infographic about what vaccinated and unvaccinated people can and cannot do.

If you openly admit that you're only wearing a mask to "support" someone or to "make people feel comfortable", you're part of the problem... the science is out and the government is confirming that a mask is not needed if vaccinated (not that it made any difference before the vaccine anyways). It's time for everyone to return to normal, unless you just hated the old normal.

My son is in the Rookie hockey program at the Stars Center in Farmers Branch and almost every parent there had a mask on except 2 or 3 of us. I seriously doubt that many are not vaccinated. Than ate at Babes and numerous people still came in and left wearing masks. It perplexed me that this ,any people aren't ready to throw the damn things away.
