If quality night is hitting ,125 for the night you have low standards. She has been good against lower teams but against quality teams she has been anything but good. Look up her stats for SEC play and she is hitting .170 this year. There is only one other outside hitter in the SEC hitting less than .200 that starts.

We are very fortunate to have so many good options around her this year to get this far this year but going forward we need everyone playing at a very high level to go any farther.

the attendance looked good on the broadcast. The team responded well- all things considered.
TCU is well coached as is A&M. Louisville went 5 today, so..... time to rest, reflect and go again next weekend. Gig'em.

I think this is about it as far as attendance expectations. I have basically zero friends who watched the match on TV and plenty watching the OSU/Indiana game which have absolutely nothing to do with us.

Student attendance might bump up here and there but we need to get the immediate community more engaged as well as the nearby giant glob of humans known as Houstonians to come.

Playing Fitch was huge.

Nope. She is certainly a key rotation player, but ahe isn't a starter. If she started a match this year it was when Stowers was injured early in the year.

You are absolutely right she is not the per se starter but she is one of the two outsides who play in the match and in SEC play this year she is one of two outsides that play in each match for each team that is hitting less than .200. There I fixed the technicality for you.

Emily had 12 kills 8 errors on 32 attempts hitting .125. It only shows her with 1 receiving error which I don't think is correct.

As the OH she is also getting the majority of out of system sets. Sets not from setter and often from behind, and when from setter off bad passes making which aren't always ideal.

Need to work on her passing AND SO/FBK % in that rotation.

The Jumbotron don't show a single frame from the Hawkeye. These in/out calls should have been easy with the Hawkeye. Is NCAA not using it because not everyone has one or did they just not show it in Reed?

Also, our records are 10k+ this year vs tu and 9k+ last year vs tu. We might approach that for a regional, but it is hard to jump from a ~4k+ season avg to 9k in 1st and 2nd round when the other teams don't travel that well.

Don't forget about this play from Hellmuth to end the 3rd set!



I've never seen this before. We are serving but as we prepare for the block, Waak and Hellmuth switches sides.

Jamie has been growing avg attendance by a bit over 1000 each year. Give it time.

Jamie has flipped the court on occasion. Not often, and I'm not sure this particular rotation before. I do recall Logan hitting from the left on occasion. And it usually works. At least I only notice the flip when we get a point.

Given he doesn't do it much, I'm assume there is something specific he is seeing and wants a different match up. Jamie's philosophy is to play our game and have only a few opponent specific points for the players to be thinking about. Keeps them playing fast and not having to over think.

I don't recall ever seeing it with a setter on the right. But TCU was so outside heavy it was a really smart idea to have Emily on the right to block.
