The 4x400 will decide the MEN's Championship. Kansas will have the WOMEN’s Championship out of reach by the 4x400.

If Henry has 2 legs, he will run. I've heard enough about him and the team first guy he is that if we need points, he'll line it up and find a way to get in the top 8.

Interesting side note, former A&M assistant Dan Waters' Alabama program has a legitimate shot to win the 4x1.

just watched replay of Henry's steeplechase. Nice quick recovery after the fall and good thing he had a nice lead on the 3rd place finisher.

I think we need Dave Brown and Henry to score at least 2 points each today.

A 3000m steeplechase one day followed by the 5000m today? He ought to get points for just showing up at the starting line.

I think Henry will do fine. Whether he has anything left in his tank is the questions. What a brutal double.

Yeah, holding off Arkie at the end may prove to be key with the final points.

If history is any indicator it will take a very disappointing day for the A&M men not to win. Florida has traditionally not stepped up at this meet and has had success only through shear numbers. Dendy is just as likely to score zip as score a point and Lovett will be at best a low scorer in the hurdles. With all that we have left on our plate and A&M's penchant for coming through at this meet it should be a great day for the Ags. I don't believe Arkansas or Oregon can muster much of a threat. It would be a matter of us dropping back to them.

ED: You are correct about Florida. They sure have helped us in the past by folding some on the last day. They had the championship in the bag a couple of years ago and then turned and handed it to us.

Great call Ed. Dendy will not final in triple jump.

Dendy finishes in 10th in the first flight and will not get three more jumps.

That is -3 per MidTnAgs projections. Good for the Ags as long as Arkansas does not gain those points.

Maverick: The data can be confusing. There are two good ways of predicting who is going to win any sporting event: (1) predictions by experts in the field, and (2) the previous performances/records by the contestants.

I took the predictions from both sources, put the data into an Excel spreadsheet, and let it calculate the points for each contestant in the meet. Lots & lots & lots of time but a lot of fun.

Source 1: http://www.trackandfieldnews.com/index.php/formcharts
Source 2: http://www.tfrrs.org/lists/1029.html

From each source, I determine how many points each entry would receive in each event. I then present to you these two numbers with the numbers from the experts (Source 1) listed first.

Thus for 110m hurdles event today I listed: A&M - Wayne Davis (10,8).

Wayne runs the hurdles for us and the experts predict him to finish first and thus get 10 points for the AGGIES. However, one contestant in the race has run the same race 0.01 seconds faster than Wayne. So based on previous performance, Wayne would be predicted to finish second and get us 8 points.

I added the points from all the entries to arrive at each teams predictions. Thus, for the AGGIES, the experts predict us to end the meet with 60 points. Points accumulated from previous performances predict us to accumulate 58 points at the end of the meet.

Aggie02 - you have got to be kidding! I figured he would be so mad at his long jump fiasco, he would make amends today.

It helped a lot that the tu long jumper beat the Florida long jumper. That gave the men the title.
