Woot!

The preseason is underway and today the Stars named Jamie Benn the captain. I think playoffs should be the goal (yet again) for this season, and I think that is a very attainable goal.

I was a little sour at the hiring of Lindy Ruff but he has grown on me. Hopefully he will bring some much needed discipline (and winning!) to the organization. I am also trying to dampen my expectations for Nichushkin, but I think he will eventually be a BEAST! I think Benn and Seguin will tear it up and our defense will also be improved this year.

Whatever happens, it should be a very interesting season.

Team looks very promising this year. Offense should be solid, lots of young players, lots of future star potential across the board. Defense is one of the best in the league offensively, but we're going to let up our fair share of scoring opportunities. On the plus side, we've got Kari to help clean that up. Overall, I think we're going to be a lot of fun to watch this year. High scoring, aggressive games.

I know it's a new coach and administration but I feel like playoffs are a must. It's been too damn long.

I've never been a huge fan or kari, but I guess I do have to admit he hasn't had the most stout d protecting him.

Preseason went well, hope they can keep scoring like that in the real games!

My interest in the Stars had started to slowly climb with all the hype of the offseason changes.

It's back down in the dumps. I watched a good bit of the game and we had zero offensive momentum. Could barely keep the puck in the offensive zone longer than 10 seconds.

it really is the same old, same old.

It was only 1 game. The problem is, people were all hyped up and wanted to see a drastically improved team on night 1. It'll take some time.

We actually had more shot attempts, but a good many of those were blocked. I think it'll take some time for these lines to "gel" but Ruff is definitely teaching a more aggressive style that, if nothing else, will be fun to watch. The problem will still be on the back end, until the D corps proves otherwise.

Our weakness was always going to be on D anyways. I'd much rather go out and attack than try to sit back and paper over those deficiencies. Win or lose, at least it'll be entertaining hockey.

Despite the loss it was a good game tonight. The miscue at the end of the first was our downfall. Good game from Ellis as well.

Really entertaining game so far. Good to see Roussel come to the defense of his teammate. He went crazy on Irwin.

And Eakin continues to solidify his place as my favorite player. That kid just brings it night after night.

My favorite team to beat is the Sharks!

If we could just clean up a few things, like letting our opponents score 9 seconds into the game and BONEHEADED passes by defensemen (looking at you in particular Gonchar and Goligoski) this team could really be competitive.

And I knew from the beginning Seguin would be awesome
