MidTn. I sent a message on twitter to aggietrk asking for the splits. They posted it on twitter. I believe the 4x400m men could go under 3 minutes by time nationals. Both Shamier Little and Kamria Brown didnot run the 4x400m race either. Shamier had two hard races and we already could not have won the championship by the time 4x400. I was looking at the schedule at Nationals both 400m and 400m hurdles are on the same day so it would be tough for Shamier but the relay is on a different day. For Kamria Brown both the 200m and 400m are on different days so this works well for her if she is fully fit
See Pat Henry quote on Kamaria Brown below. He said she got a little hurt.
"On the ladies side Kamaria Brown didn’t run in the 200 or 400 today and that might have been 10 more points for us. That’s just the way it is, she got a little bit hurt during the sprint relay and we decided we couldn’t let her run in her open events.”
Oliva Ekpone With a time of 22.23 (-0.8 wind) has broken the A&M school record of 22.25 set by Simone Facey in 2008. Ekponé also bettered the SEC Championship meet record of 22.35 that was set by Debbie Ferguson of Georgia in 1999 as well as LSU’s Kimberlyn Duncan in 2013. This is tremendous. She must be the athlete of the meet. She should be place on the Bowerman List now
As I mentioned earlier in the blog that we have 5-6 sprinters who can reach finals or win the 100m/200m at NCAA. Can all of them perform great on the same day? That the big question. Ekpone did it at SEC, however Jennifer Madu, Ashton Purvis, Ashley Collier were disappointed but again they are very talented.
