Wow, what a great last 3 minutes to the game. For those that missed it:

Penguins up 2-1 with 3 minutes or so left in the game. Seguin had a great look at the goal but gets tripped on the way (goes uncalled). The goaltender comes out to challenge and Seguin runs into him (kinda). Rebound comes out and we score. Ref calls it off citing goalie interference. The bench goes nuts and the refs talk about it. Call stands and the goal is disallowed, which was bull****.

Well that pisses us off and lights a fire under our ass, within 45sec-1min we score to tie it up on a nice sequence of passes where Benn gets the rebound in front of the crease to score. Time goes on and there's a face-off after an offsides by us with ~13 seconds left. Crosby trips Benn and gets called for a penalty with 9 seconds left. We win the ensuing face-off, make two great passes and Seguin scores the game-winning goal off a wrister from just inside the face-off circle with 3 seconds left in regulation.

Great win and exciting game! Benn and Seguin coming up big again. Spezza really stepped up his game and Daley played great. I thought it was going to be a long night after we dug ourselves into that 2-0 hole early.
This team has got it going now. Going to be a fun season!

Should go back and hear the (presumably) Pitt reporters ask Alex about the play with Dupuis getting hurt. They basically asked why he did it to Dupuis on purpose. What a joke.

Whenever we need a boost we just need to have a goal disallowed to light a fire under us!

I spoke too soon! (But that first period was still pretty painful) I know it's been just 4 games but it's so weird how the team has either a great or terrible period there has been no in between.

Dang, just watched the game highlights. Chills. That was awesome!

Well it's official Nemeth is out for the season with the laceration he suffered on Saturday. Looks like our young defenseman are going to have to be ready at a moments notice for the rest of the season

Interested to see Jokipakka at the NHL level consistently.

Excited to see how this team responds to that melt-down Saturday.

One thing that has stuck with me since then is the Spezza, Benn, Seguin combo. Yeah, it's lethal. But the whole point in signing Spezza was to give us depth at center. With this line, you take out our top 2 Cs. Not sure it makes sense long term. It may be enough to outscore some teams, but it's sure to hurt us against the better/deeper teams. I'm chalking this up to early season line tweaking. Surely it's not Ruff's long term solution. Right?
