loved this episode. as a reader, i realized going into this series that the pacing and scene-ordering would likely be a bit jarring just because of the amount of storylines and locales, but so far they're handling that very well.
Dany and the dothraki, in particular, are really growing on me. the dude playing Ser Jorah is absolutely nailing it, and i loved the scene with him and the Dothraki comparing their weapons. they're fleshing out the dothraki way more than i had expected, and it's fun to watch. oh and viserys getting put in his place by his sister and Jhogo (i think that was the dothraki with the whip) was awesome
so much else to say, but in general the only weakness of the episode was probably the ordering of scenes and the general feel of time passing...it's just not made very clear, and i could see how a non-reader could get confused. but i also feel like this week's episode took us to the top of of the proverbial roller coaster, and from here on out it's going to be a wild ride (which is a lot similar to the book)
oh and i had a sheet-eating grin on my face during the Syrio/Arya scene at the end. for all of the added scenes and for-TV modifications, that scenes felt like it was lifted straight from the text and just spliced into what they had filmed. so awesome!
pumped for next week!
