just finished the last few episodes of season 2 last night. didn't intend to watch all of it but the last 3 or 4 episodes are just really compelling TV. sad ending but i'm not gonna lie i think i liked season 2 even more than season 1, which i didn't think was gonna be the case when we were getting introduced to the docks

Finished season 4......wow!!!!

bumping this because i just finished season 3...damn! i don't even know what to say. just awesome, amazing television

a lot of bittersweet endings for this season, but i was surprised by how many loose ends actually got tied up fairly nicely. i'm curious now about season 4 but i need a break, this show is emotionally and mentally draining when you watch several episodes a day

I love that scene. Wee Bay was one of my favorite characters.

I saw the series when it originally aired, and then again shortly on DVD upon initial release. It's amusing to see so many Johnny Come Lately fans, particularly when series creator and writer David Simon could have used the support when the show suffered through low ratings.

redstone, i definitely wish i had discovered at the time of airing. although truthfully, since i would have been only 14 years old when it first started, i probably would not have appreciated the depth of the series like i do now

just went through season 4 over the last three days. probably could've in two days but it's just so emotionally draining

damn. not sure how to react to a lot of that. all i know is it was getting way too dusty in here during those last two episodes

God, I love it when people post "You know, I started watching the Wire, and I just don't get what the big deal is about".

and then once they've gotten thru season 2 or 3, and follow up with "wow, this is the greatest show ever, why didn't anyone tell me!?!?!?"

I've been a fan for the series for some time. It is amusing to see everyone finally catching up.

while i can admire what the writers were trying to do with the introduction of the newspaper, it was probably the weakest part of the season for me. i enjoyed jimmy's antics though, and the resolution of the human characters at the end was pretty good

final ranking for me as far as seasons go, after letting the whole series stew a bit:

3 > 4 > 2 > 1 > 5

and 4 and 2 are pretty closely tied, i got a big emotional attachment to the "season characters" in both but they were so different in the institutions they were about. season 3 was my favorite as far as story and setting though, and the barksdales were my favorite of all the empires. and even though 5 is my least favorite, they were all awesome

Season 5 is growing on me (though i haven't seen it in years). The fact that Omar wasn't even worthy of a line in the newspaper was a perfect point for the entire series.

I didn't like season 5 until the scene where Jimmy starts distributing his resources to the Stanfield case and all the other detectives. The look that he gets on his face when he gets his way is downright juicy. The greatness of that scene made the season for me.

It wasn't you. The spoiler got deleted I think. Posted Spoiler was ending of season 2 iirc.

I thought it was season 3 end but it's been a while. Whoever it was had their post deleted.
