I grabbed several of them not realizing there were different centerfolds for the 8 characters. I only looked at 1 when I got home from the theater and can't remember who was in there. I need to check them all when I get home.

Haven't mentioned this - LOVED the music. Morricone is so f-ing good.

We noticed they didn't dim the lights completely until after the overture. Also there were no trailers - Overture started immediately at showtime.

A Samuel L. Jackson centerfold.

Sounds hideous.

Saw this tonight and I really enjoyed it, but I've enjoyed most QT movies.

Thought it was awesome. The performances were amazing (especially Kurt and JJL), the cinematography was beautiful, and the soundtrack was glorious. It will be tough for the Academy to choose between John Williams and Morricone for the Oscar.

FWIW, this is now my #2 QT behind Kill Bill. Loved every minute.

Better than Django and Basterds.

Definitely not better that Django, but it's Tarantino so it's obviously good.

One of my best friends who is a big Tarantino fan literally walked out of Hateful 8 halfway through. Said its now in elite company with Alexander on the list of movies he's walked out of.

Does he (or she) always do dramatic things just to make a point?

I think I know exactly when he walked out. Did he walk out of Pulp Fiction too?

Sounds like a poser Tarantino fan.

Django was way better.

Whoever edited this movie got paid way too much.

And Basterds.

Basterds was also way better. This is my least favorite QT film by far.

Also, that set must have absolutely reeked. I dont know what Tarantino's blood recipe is, but most of them are really sweet and syrup-y...I know when I was doing costuming in college, mine had jello in it and corn syrup and the thought of being covered in it just...blech.

I also liked Django and Basterds more as well. I enjoyed The Hateful Eight, but my viewing experience was marred by the theatre I went to. No intermission, someone smelt like weed and it was ungodly hot in the theatre. By the time we got to the flashback chapter, I wasn't feeling good at all and pretty much wanted to leave, but not because of the movie. Like I said, I really enjoyed it.

Really enjoyed it, actually a lot more than I thought I would... Love Tarantino, but for some reason I wasn't really that amped for this one. Loved the cinematography and the usage of the 70 mm. And the soundtrack was absolutely phenomenal.

Only two minor complaints...

Since Tarantino wanted to go with 70 mm, seems like he should've chose a movie that had more panoramic shots. The ones they used in the Wyoming mountains were just beautiful, but 90% of the movie took place in a cabin. Still looked great, just kind of odd that he decided to go with 70 mm for what is essentially a play.

*****spoilers*****

Why did they give Channing Tatum any billing in the opening credits?? He's hidden in IMDB, I didn't see any press with him, but then they stick his name with the last billing right at the beginning of the movie... So the entire time you're waiting for him to appear and know he's going to play some pivotal role. It's a mystery, and that kind of took away from it. Would've gotten an even bigger reaction from the crowd when he appeared as well... Just kind of a head scratcher.

I saw his name in the opening credits and thought that was odd but had completely forgotten about him until he made his appearance.

The setting was reminiscent of Django and the plot was reminiscent of Reservoir Dogs.

Probably 4th best Tarantino film after Pulp Fiction, Basterds, and Django. Same level as Reservoir Dogs but better than the Kill Bills.

Yes the score was great. Found myself humming the ominous motif that was used when they showed the huge crucifix both times.

Outside of the opening scene Basterds is the weakest QT movie.
