Also, he has to know the feds basically know everything so it's not like he has to hide it. They'll arrest him if they want and his life is over (or witness protection), or he'll continue to live on the outside in the open, but always as a prisoner of the cartel.

Good news!

Finally finished it off last night. Sure, had some blah moments if you want to pick at it but writing nowadays is pretty bad. Most everything was covered except the "drowning" scene where SHE'S WEARING A FREAKING WET SUIT! It's pretty hard to go underwater for any length of time in a full or even a half wetsuit.

That's why I figured it had some stupid metaphorical purpose. I'm also disappointed in preggo stripper scene but no BlueCat owner drunken hit on Marty gratuitous nekkidity scene.

Love Buddy, hope he lasts a while in S2.

One final comment, wouldn't it be a pretty tough wrinkle in the case to have your main witness getting banged by the FBI agent lead? I think the defense would have a field day with that.

I also had a big problem with her almost-drown. She had a near perfect front crawl form and body type. She could probably swim forever.

But either way, who lets their daughter go for an open water swim at 9PM?

Great series though. Can't wait for S2.

Guys, the drowning scene wasn't a literal portrayal; it was metaphorical. She wasn't 'physically' drowning.

Drowning scene was a joke. This show is a C max

In 100% agreement with every ridiculous plot point mentioned, but I was shocked at how good the final two episodes were. That homestretch really saved the season for me and solidified that I'll be back. Was on the fence around episode eight or so.

Of all the "dumb" things folks have mentioned, this is the one that I kept waiting to see mentioned and wondered why no one was bringing it up. EVERY single one of those conversations is recorded. Every single one. The inmates know it. The visitors know it. Hell, I think there are signs at most of those places that tell you that they are recording it all.

That was super lazy writing.

And I, too, hated to see Del go. Esai Morales was doing a TREMENDOUS job with that character.

Oh, and for those of you wondering why Martin didn't call Del to deal with the Schnells, I thought it was pretty obvious that Del would have just told him that it wasn't his problem and "where's my money".

That stated, I really enjoyed the show and am glad season 2 is coming.

First of all, it's been over a month since since the show was released, so I don't know that it's necessary to keep using spoiler tags. I can't remember exactly, but I think the rule we came up with for Netflix shows was that everything is fair game after the first weekend, though I'm down for an alternate protocol. Either way...

- Yeah, additionally, Ruth's father served no real purpose to the narrative. It's like the writers thought she needed extra motivation to kill Marty, when she already had plenty. It was so pointless and over the top, with next to no payoff.

- As for Del getting offed, I actually kind of loved that. I don't know that we needed another season of that dynamic between him and Marty. It had already run its course, I thought. Now there's room for an even meaner (and far less forgiving) cartel rep to come to town, which I think is exciting.

I think I would have been compelled with a Dell/Schnell rivalry in S2 while they built up the casino, and then Marty started earning respect from Del while it happened, culminating with a final offing of one side or the other...or both.

Yeah, I can see that. Draw it out a bit more and really milk it.

I think Del respected Marty, even if he was willing to kill him in the name of business. It was what made their relationship so compelling.

I think we'll see a Snell/cartel fight develop in S2.

I'm glad they didn't write that into the script. I think it's another example of his extreme loyalty to his family. No doubt the writers did this on purpose.
