Finished the show last night. I fully enjoyed it (minus the acting by the sister, which was tolerable until the last two eps).

I did however not like the twist with the sister becoming the villain. It just didn't feel earned or convincing in any way. Maybe I missed something, but it was too big of a leap for me to feel satisfied with as a character motivation. The plot definitely was better for it, and as a story I understand and agree with the need to do it, it just was so poorly executed. Compare that to the two big leaps Tak's character took: 1) joining the Envoys; and 2) deciding to do good instead of be out for only himself. Both of those felt believable: 1) his only emotional connection was to his sister, so finding her set in motion a chain of events drawing from that irrational driver; 2) there was a scene where they had Tak looking at the Elliots and Poe and realizing that he does indeed have friends was subtly and very well executed to show that turn in his motivations.

Now:
- Is there some deeper meaning to those end of episode vignettes that precede the credits? Or, did they just hint at the next episode?
- I hope season 2 focuses more on the planetary colonies. That feels like a world ripe for the picking (with sort of a Firefly/Serenity thing, too)
