Good episode. Liked Negan's wandering with the banjo music, reminded me of an old western. Also liked little Ass Kicker, kid is funny.
Moving up the timeline to give an older Judith a more prominent role was a solid move.
I like the direction they're going with Negan. They already overplayed the whole 'brutal bad guy' thing. I find the new, possibly rehabilitated and somewhat humbled, Negan a lot more interesting. They teased Negan 'getting out' in the half season finale....but the way it actually turned out was a nice surprise, and not so predictable.
The Savior storyline had long gotten stale and boring. Hopefully that's in the rearview for good.
They've already strayed way off from the comics, so they might as well form an interesting storyline within the tv universe they created. And I think they've done that with the time jump.
Though I hope we see more of Carol and Ezekiel with other prominent characters now gone. And of course, Daryl...and his huntin' dog. Tara and the younger leaders aren't going to cut it.
