We have a Lego resale store here in San Antonio (Olmos Park). It is one of my favorite small businesses ever. The guy buys bulk Lego at garage sales and other places. He has a couple of Lego savants that work for him. They can look at a pile of Lego a figure out what sets are in it. If they are collectible sets, they will pull them out, get the instructions, and reassemble them for sale. He has several hundred minifigs for sale too. The owner also hosts Lego birthday parties and corporate events, etc.
One other thing he has is a Lego table that is a pile of unsorted parts they think may not be worth their time to sort. You can go dig through and buy a ziplock bag for $8-20 depending on the size of the bag. (This is therapeutic for me some days). I go in there occasionally trying to build up some Technic parts.
At a recent birthday party my son attended they had that Millennium Falcon shown above sitting on a table off the side. The only difference is that is was made of black Lego instead of gray (Come to find out this is a thing. Google it). It was incredibly bad ass. I asked the store owner about it. He said one of his affluent customers commissioned him to build it for him so his people gathered up all the parts and built it. Customer paid him for it, and about six months later he brought it back because he didn't want it anymore. Store owner had it on consignment, but he didn't expect to move it anytime soon. I think the asking price was about $3500.
