The Raimi movies were absolute monsters in their day. I remember 1 in particular being a massive summer event on the level of an Avengers.
They have full rights right now as far as I know.Bruce Almighty said:Champ Bailey said:
I didn't think that I could get excited for another Avengers movie without IM and Cap, but Peter slowly taking charge of the Avengers gets me hopeful.
Not likely. I don't remember the details of the deal with Sony, but they're going to get full rights back.

Here's an easy way of solving the identity issue, get one of the skrulls disguised as Peter and the real Peter would be in his Spider-Man suit side-by-side in public.

That PowerPoint in memoriam was such a genius way to start the movie.

Just finished.
I thought when Peter was asking about all the other superheroes and said Captain Marvel and Fury said something like "don't say that name" that it was an odd response.
But the end credits made more sense!

Didn't realize there was a spoiler thread, so here are a few thoughts I posted on the other thread but can expand on here.
1. Is this the first MCU movie where Sam Jackson isn't listed at the end of the credits? I was actually rather surprised he was listed second.
2. I think one of the things in the movie that most intrigued me was Flash. They threw in a lot of small scenes that gave insight into him as a person, and I'm wondering what purpose that will serve in the next movie. Particularly the two parts where he's trying to reach out to his mother. Are they building empathy to his character so he and Peter can work together?
3. Somehow I'm still completely amazed when a seemingly insignificant scene or character in a previous MCU movie becomes important. William (the scientist) being yelled at by Obadiah in the first Iron Man movie now comes back to lead Mysterio's team? And downloads all the drone information at the end? Amazing.
4. I loved the nod to Endgame when he had the homemade hammer and shield on the bridge.

I think the spiderman movies have the best supporting cast of all the marvel movies. Definitely do a lot to flesh then out and make them memorable. I loved Flash in this one and I am interested in where they're going with the character in the future.
This may have been stated already... but why did it show Cap as dead? At the end of Endgame he wasn't dead, just old...Brian Earl Spilner said:

As a designer that totally cracked me up.GiveEmHellBill said:Brian Earl Spilner said:

Loved the last frame of a candle with the "Getty Images" watermark on it.
Totally agreed on this. We went last night, and I was waiting assuming they'd flip Mysterio somehow and really didn't know how it would work...and that was brilliant. All the callbacks to earlier films were a stroke of genius.Sex Panther said:
Don't get me wrong, it's a pretty huge leap, but I can't believe how great a job they did making Mysterio's character work and updating him with technology and the rules established in the MCU.
Mysterio should NOT work in a movie. But somehow they made it make sense. I LOVED the scenes where Peter was completely immersed in his illusions. That's straight out of the comics, and again should never have been something that could be pulled off in a movie, but they did it.

If the elementals were all projections, how was there real water being splashed everywhere in Venice?
They showed drones under water causing waves and water damage.
