What are the biggest entertainment properties with junior high kids? Fortnite, marvel, Star Wars? Is Harry Potter still popular or just with our generation?

Insert what ever the most popular video game is, and that's it. With today's kids, you tubers and pro gamers are more well known than actors. Marvel and Star Wars are very popular, but if I were to ask them who Robert Downey Jr is, i'd get a bunch of blank stares. Harry Potter isn't popular at all. In the next 10 years, I wouldn't be surprised if video games overtake movies as the most popular form of entertainment. It's already overtaken tv shows. TV besides Netflix is an "old person" thing.

Well that's because the writing for video games is getting so damn good.

With my students it's Fortnite, Teen Titans, Young Justice, Avengers, Star Wars, and just general sports. They're very into animation and big event movies. Pokmon and Dragon Ball Z are popular with them as well.

Then a lot of kids are starting to figure out sports. Heck, one of my students from last year is cousins with Patrick Lewis, who played center for the Ags from 2009-12 and he hangs out with him a lot.

Similar list to my kids. They also like a lot of celebrity YouTubers that cater to kids. Mostly videogame focused.

Forgot about the youtubers. One of my students had her own channel with a pretty good following (I think she had 300 followers, keep in mind she's 10).

Kid is tiny. At 18 he will probably make Kyler look like a giant. He's super quick and shifty and breaks ankles at recess, though.

I guess it depends on which kids you know. I know plenty who love HP.

Another thing - i think they were a bit too vague about who actually blipped.

My assumption is that pretty much nobody on the trip was blipped, but some confirmation would've been nice.
The tall kid that was working against Peter to be MJ's boyfriend was blipped and came back more "grown up".

No, almost all of Peter's entire crew was "blipped" which is why they are all the same age. The good looking dude who was going after MJ too, wasn't blipped. So he grew over the last 5 years. Just Peter and the crew never saw that and came back and he and a bunch of their classmates were suddenly 5 years older.

I thought it was alright. Maybe it was my mood, but it was definitely themed for a younger crowd.

Maybe it's also just a hangover from IW/Endgame...like hair of the dog the morning after two nights in Vegas.

Was really impressed with how they made Mysterio work without it being overly ridiculous.

Finally got to watch this movie. Thought it was better than the 1st (which was very good). Loved the awkwardness/hilariousness of the teenage couples. Really good mix of comedy and action. Can't wait for the next one.

And the post credit scenes. Wow!

Loved the movie when I finally saw it last week. Didn't love the after credit scenes as I think it's painted them in a corner moving forward.

Maybe. I think it's because he will eventually be taking over the Avengers. A la Tony Stark's first movie in phase 1

That works fine for the MCU, but not at all for Sony to pump out standard Spidey movies (which they totally intended to do)

He needs his secret identity to stay in NY and do Spider-Man things and I don't see how Sony pulls that off now

I mean, he's got to go into exile now right? He can fight bad guys and even take over the avengers, but he can't go back to high school or hang out with his friends.

We watched last night and loved this film but were completely confused by the The Blip effect. So, the good looking Asian guy who is now 21 is still a sophomore in high school and is hitting on 16 yr old MJ?

What am I missing here?

The good looking Asian guy was 12 when thanos snapped and didn't turn to dust. So now he's a 17 year old hunk when everybody is back

I read somewhere that they may try and merge all three Spiderman franchises as part of a multi-verse.

Would explain why JK Simmons would have a "similar" role in the newest Spidey movie as he did in Tobey's.

Just watched for the first time. The movie was.. alright I guess. I liked Homecoming a lot more. I would like to see some of these movies stand more on their own instead of having so many cameos and references to the other heroes. By now we all know they're super connected, just let Spider-Man do his thing without Happy and Fury. We don't need Fury in every single movie. Hoping the third movie can be a truly Spider-Man movie now instead of Spider-Man featuring Iron Man.

One cool Easter egg, if not already discussed, was the license plate on the bridge when Peter and MJ kissed. It said "TASM 143", which was the issue where they had their first kiss in the comics.
