Also, people have been asking "How can a Black Widow prequel add anything to the MCU?"

The post credit scene just answered that.

I believe that Betty Brant said it had been 8 months since Tong Stark died at the beginning of the film.

This film was hilarious. Seemed like every joke hit. May be the funniest Marvel movie yet.

I saw it in France and the "Europeans love Americans" line from Ned got a pretty nice laugh.

Just watched again. The Skrull thing totally made more since watching it again knowing that. Also, Dmitri the bus driver. Can anyone guess who that is? Looks like they are setting up the villain for the next movie.

I might have missed this. Why is the bus driver a future villain?

I thought they'd set up Dimitri, possibly as Chameleon, but since he disappeared from the third act entirely, I'd say they definitely aren't setting him up for anything. Besides, being able to change your face pales massively in comparison to the Skrulls or Mysterio's illusions.

I wouldn't be so sure. He could use some of the tech that Mysterio used plus we really don't know what he's capable of. There's also some speculation out there about this. I will say the comics spell the name Dmitri vs Dimitri from the movie. But to me it's a little too much of a coincidence. We shall see.

Another idea is he is part Skrull. Half human half Skrull, if that's possible. Also, not sure if they'd go with Kraven the Hunter, who in the comic is Dmitri's half brother if Dmitri were a half breed.

The Chameleon, Dmitri Smerdyakov, who was the first true super villain in ASM #1 and reappeared numerous times over the years in the comic. He is half brother of Kraven the Hunter, another major villain in the Spider-Man comics. https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Chameleon_(comics)

Really would love to see them do Kraven the Hunter, either in a Spider-Man or a Black Panther movie.

Pedro Pascal would be EXCELLENT in that sort of role.

Even though Sony is getting the benefits of MCU Spidey, I kind of feel like these are their execs after watching these movies be amazing with villains like Vulture and Mysterio.

That guy Bridges is yelling at in that clip (and appears in Far From Home)?

Ralphie from "A Christmas Story."

Apparently he and Favreau are friends.

Really enjoyed it, but I'm in the minority who wouldn't place it above Homecoming. Not due to any faults in Far From Home, but because I really enjoyed homecoming and loved Keaton as the villain.

Same. Loved everything about this movie, but loved Homecoming just a tiny bit more.

Loved it. Agree with OP in that I didn't think Mysterio would work, but I thought the same thing about Vulture. I just love the arc of this Spider-Man so far, so great.

My only gripe in the whole film is probably the giant amount of exposition they did right after Peter gave away EDITH.

I definitely missed Stark, really hammered home that Iron Man is gone. I did like that they increased Happy's role with Stark gone. The funniest was when Happy tried to go Captain America with the shield. That, and I definitely giggled every time they said Peter tingle.

Just got back. Movie was a home run for me. Anyone catch the sign at the end that said something like "we can't wait to show you what comes next?"

Just got back. I think homecoming was better. This was good and fun, and it could be a bit of endgame aftershock still. Hard to really separate from how great endgame was.

My only question, Is mysterio really dead? Seems like disjointed the way the post credit scene jumped around.

Even if he is dead, with his crew still alive and in control of his B.A.R.F. Tech, they can probably create the illusion he's alive and returned in the future if they want.

He's dead, I'm sure. They made a show of William downloading something at the end that it seems to me was the final message.

That and that final scene was obviously doctored, bc he was in his uniform instead of the mo-cap suit

Kinda odd that they didn't have his suit AI Karen (Jennifer connelly) in this one. Would've made sense for him to fall back onto her after losing Edith.

Makes sense. I saw that scene but was distracted by my kiddo too. Still a good movie.

Heh, so Tony had this super sophisticated drone army in orbit, and didn't deploy it against the Chitauri in endgame?

Given Edith's name, maybe it was a contingency put into action in the event of his death.

It's just a plot hole that will happen over the course of 22 movies. Kinda like how Captain America went from being a war criminal to leading group therapy.

The Chitauri invasion was 2012. Far From Home takes place in like 2024 right?

Was there something specific said about him having the drones back then?

Could make the case that he wasn't on Earth to deploy them? Since he was in space

I think he left that suit in the weird fish tank thing in New York. May packed his old suit for him.

Endgame, not infinity war.

In homecoming, Karen was in the old suit, though he may have uploaded her to the Iron spider.

Well they only had one chance to win, obviously in the other reality that he used them we lost.

so how long do you think Nick Fury has been in space? Just since Endgame? longer? If that was Talos in the IW post credit scene, then why did he have the pager? Either Nick gives him the pager at some point, or he's been impersonating Nick since the 1990s.
