Can't believe I passed on them when they came through 2 years ago. So f-in good.

Great album variety; 4 from new album, 3 songs each from aenima, lateralus and 10k days, and 1 undertow goodie.

Maynard's vocals were sounding great. Can't believe they can get through some of these time signature nightmares. During that crazy drum time signature shift in Pneuma, where he's playing along with Adam instead of Justin after first verse/chorus, they came out of it and I saw Danny smile at Adam.. like, alright, I think we can actually do this!
Maynard switched sides a few time, so he wasn't on stage right. He actually walked down in front of Danny's kit for vicarious, just walking and singing.
Danny used that huge keyboard thingy behind his kit in the middle synth part of Invincible. Then Adam plays the synth in Pneuma.


My view:



Very strict no cell phone/camera policy.. signs every where, security constantly walking up and down aisles getting people. Overall it worked, I didn't see one phone up in front of me the whole show.

Then before the last song, Maynard said 'you guys have been good, you can now pull out your phones and record the rest of the show. Security, please no tackling or punching.' So I had to grab a few pics.

They actually played behind this stringy curtain thing for a few songs. Then it came back at intermission. Allowed for some cool 3-D visuals, since the lasers would hit those strings and it acted like a projector.



I browsed the seats still available for sale before the show to maybe sit closer in my section, but the few I had my eye on maybe sold last minute. But I did see a guy front row alone on the aisle for the opener. I know from experience, you can't buy a single seat on the aisle, so I asked him; he had two tickets but never sold his second one. So I asked; can I sit here in seat 2? and he said sure! My ticket was originally row 18.

So front row it was for me.

Friggin amazing. Blast watching intermittent Astros win as well. PERFECT night.
