Malcolm was killed by the Nation itself. Why is it hilarious in your mind? The comparison is that these people learn about Islam and convert. They go through a spiritual awakening, and how the religion is linked to their culture. Some people, understandably, aren't really educated on what the NOI represents in the prison system. Brother is no different than any other person of faith with their loose morals & still preaching the gospel. In Philadelphia there was a crime organization called the Black Mulsim Mafia, an offshoot of the Nation.
Unlike many other characters in the show, either you get Mouzone or you dont. I can understand why some people don't, despite evidence that men like this existed.

I don't know much about Malcom X, but didn't he turn his life around after his prison time conversion? I think that when people in prison start reading and learning, they typically don't come out and become hitmen. They figure out that they have been making poor decisions and come out and make something of themselves.
I just finished watching Who killed Malcom X on netflix. Apparently it was an open secret in Newark that everyone knew who murdered Malcolm X, and his killer had become a respected person in that community
This is the part of the argument that I don't get.....is that Brother Mouzone was not "believable".
When I first saw the character the first thing I thought of was that they were basing his persona off of the person that was suspected of killing Biggie Smalls.
A Fruit of Islam contract killer. Guys that rappers hire so that bloods & crips don't F with them.
Its not a stretch to see a criminal convert to Islam while in prison, but instead of becoming a Malcolm X/Community leader type.....this guy stays associating with an underworld element....all the while wearing a bowtie, and not eating pork.
