you're probably right about the superman hate. That happens to me with the Matrix. The first one is so far ahead of the other 2 for me. I really like BvS right up until Kryptonite Spear/Save Martha/Let's keep mentioning how nobody is living here so nobody is getting hurt!

I fell asleep during Aquaman, on purpose. Jason Momoa is not a good actor outside of Dothraki warlord roles. The human villain could suddenly use Atlantian tech. Amber Heard is the worst hot girl actress since Megan Fox. You know my stance on Patrick Wilson/James Marsden. Terrible villain. And they didn't make the obvious Khal Drogo/Ivan Drago joke despite having Lundgren and MOmoa there together. I understand people liked it for probably the same sort of reason I like Batman Forever and the 1986 Transformers movie, but my wife and I laughed through most of it after she got her shirtless Momoa fix in the first 10 minutes.

Even Jango Fett couldn't save that thing.

Avengers battle of NY was in this same ballpark as well. I've always had a thing for major city battles on an epic scale.


Totally agree. This always bugged me about superhero movies. There's a scene in Avengers, I can't remember the reason/details, but Iron Man is falling and ends up stopping his fall by blasting repulsors downward, about 10 feet above civilians with no damage to the civilians.

Could have been a subplot of Iron Man 3 - the class-action lawsuit he keeps having to show up for and his court dates save him from the Mandarin's attack with the gun ships.

The scale for each is very different.

Winter Soldier is a spy thriller type with guns and hand to hand combat.

Infinity War is an all-out comic book wet dream with the entire super hero cast.

we finished our marathon of the entirety of MCU with IW and Endgame last night.

i would not recommend watching both of those back to back. 5 hour long emotional roller coaster.

That was the first thing I did when I bought the Endgame bluray. I've done it a couple of times since then since I look at those movies as one really long movie, but I don't always have 5+ hours to spare.

It was really difficult to vote against TWS but that vote reflects my overall MCU rankings that starts with Infinity War+Endgame in the top spot (I know that technically that is a cheat, but I consider those to be one long movie), and The Winter Soldier in the second spot.

All 6 are here but the Avengers movies against the CA movies is brutal for me.

THE REVENGERS CRASH THE FINAL FOUR



Bruce Banner might still be ambivalent about wanting revenge, but the rest of his team was up for the task Wednesday night. The sixth-seeded Thor Ragnarok upset the #3 Marvel's The Avengers with 66% of the vote.
The seventh-seeded Captain America: The Winter Soldier couldn't quite pull off the same upset, falling short by a 54%-46% count.

This is so interesting of a final 4. Do you prefer epic story or fun? What's' great about the MCU is you don't have to sacrifice one for the other, but these 4 fall in different categories of emphasis. I'll be taking the fun route personally as GOTG and Ragnarok have always been my top 2.

This whole exercise just really shows how awesome the MCU is. So many great movies and they're not "all the same".

I think Ragnarok is awesome and it's certainly one of my top 5, but I think it also gets helped a little because it was such a pleasant surprise after the first two Thor movies. and Immigrant Song.

This has been a lot more fun than the SW contests or the 1980s movies because everything is so recent, there aren't the inherent cultural favorites. I was really surprised that GOTG and Ragnarok won yesterday.
I love Endgame to death, but GOTG and WInter Soldier are my 1-2, and Black Panther is probably 4th. It's great to see such a variety of opinions about something. Will probably do a Marvel moments tourney after the SW one I'm about to start although I'm fearful it could have 256 seeds to be fair. Four regions - comedy, drama, fights, and ... reveals perhaps - cuz when bearded Cap showed up in Infinity War, you better believe 44-year-old Muckity Muck yelled out "YEAH MOTHER EFFER!" in a theater full of children, although gratefully not my own.

Yeah same here. I love the MCU, but seeing it in this format - the elite 8 squaring off, man what a powerhouse Feige built.
