I went with Theoden because that scene gives me chills every time.

Both of those moments the so great. I love the you shall not pass moment because we are seeing Gandalf's true power, but Theoden's speech and the ensuing chant of Death! Death! Death! Is too much to vote against.

Went with Sam's speech as the consultation because to love that speech and the idea behind it.

It was a near thing, but I went with Gandalf. Both were incredible character moments, but the little peek into the greater legendarium we got with Gandalf referencing the Secret Fire and the Flame of Anor put it over the top for me.

Theoden should have listened to Grima Wormtongue's advice, because it cost him the title.

Gandalf the Grey, also known as Olorin, Mithrandir, Incanus, Tharkun, The White RIder, Gandalf Greyhame, Gandalf Stormcrow, and Oh Sorry, I thought you were Professor Dumbledore, has won the final of the LOTR Moments Tournament with 61.3% of the vote for putting the Balrog in the no-passing lane during Fellowship of the Ring.

Theoden King finished second with 38.7% of the vote for his motivational speech on the Fields of the Pellenor.

Theoden did win the consolation championship with 55.7% of the vote for taking Aragorn's idea and pretending he came up with it, defeating Sam's speech that capped a movie in which Sam and Frodo were about 5 minutes for Mordor then walked 800 miles the wrong way.

Well I'm glad I checked because I was about to start putting this tournament together.

We've ran quite a few of these so I forget all the ones we've done before.

I'm currently binging first time LOTR watchers' reactions on youtube and having a great time with those. Seems to be a lot of them coming out lately, maybe in the lead up to the new Amazon series.

So excited to have this franchise back in the zeitgeist very soon.

You can almost always tell when they are real and when its just someone trying to capitalize on a moment too.
The real ones are fun.
