How long do you want to ignore this user?
As someone else said, if you unplug your brain and just watched to be entertained, it's a fun movie.

You just can't starting thinking about how:
- His future daughter was both the best scientist on the planet and a badass soldier

- His dad was the only person on the planet with the giant plane and materials to get to/blow up the alien spacecraft.

- A kid in his high school science class was the only person on the planet with the required volcano knowledge.

- His wife was the only person on the planet to untangle the 'where they came from' mystery.

It was a fun flick. Glad I didn't have to fork over $30 to watch it, but I enjoyed it.

Well there were only 500K people left. If the numbers get low enough, eventually you're the best at everything.

It amazes me how critical people can be for what is just a simple action flick.

If I wanted stupid, poorly thought out, lowest common denominator entertainment I would just read Texags.

"Did you tell it to die?"

"Yeah"

"Why didn't you tell it sooner?"

I laughed

Thumbs up from me.
1. Aliens
2. Time travel
3. Starlord
4. Saving the planet.
5. J. Jonah Jameson

What more do you need? This movie wasn't based on a true story, and some of the science seemed more theoretical than real. Otherwise let's rock.

Exactly! It always cracks me up when people get on Texags and start pointing out all the flaws and science errors in a movie. Let's be real, we post on a college message board about pointless things- we aren't exactly geniuses!

All those hours developing a toxin, and all that was really needed to kill the white spikes was some old school explosives and a souvenir claw from the future.

I enjoyed it and it was free of any white-hate or kill- whitey messages... Well except for the white aliens. Now my head hurts

I love that the plan was basically to cruise around on a glacier until the stumbling upon the aliens.

One thing I think it did very well was that the rules it made about their use of time travel were simple and they explained it in a way that made sense. I usually hate time travel as a plot device because they usually do a lot of hand waving and you are never sure what the rules are for it.

I thought it was enjoyable. I didn't have to pay extra to watch it on Amazon like other streaming services so that's a plus.

It's entertaining, Chris Pratt is awesome, and there's cool aliens getting blown up. Did it make much sense, not really - but eh who cares. We got solid entertainment out of it.

Seems like the plot twist at the end was lifted from the plot in Prometheus

That summarized 80 percent of the completely ridiculous things that happened.
My favorite though, and when I knew what we were in for, was when the future people got there in the beginning and somehow in the middle of the game there was a camera man right in front of her and she was magically on the PA system. Pretty much set the tone for the movie.
Still was t bad though. Pretty much starship troopers meets Armageddon. With a finale that would have made cowboys and aliens proud.

I enjoyed it.

Loved the special effects for the white spikes.

I also liked how messy it was, because life is messy.

I'm sure we'll get a Tomorrow War 2 where the humanoid aliens come attack earth on purpose instead of crash landing.

Seems like they could have stopped the movie right when CP goes back to the present with a pretty satisfactory ending. Then the second movie you can tackle them dealing with the ship in Russia, then have a third movie where they actually deal with the aliens that were driving the ship.

Well at least half of that might be true, a sequel is looking likely.

And by the way, any idea where the five snowmobiles came from? Did Jk have those laying around? Did they stop at Dicks on the way to the airport? And where did they land? I'm sure a Russian airport would have been cool with it right? Not to mention a crap ton of C4 must have just been lying around for them to use. And volcanic ash falls for thousands of miles, but that glacier had to be the answer?

Just such pure cheese and somehow I didn't hate it, which I am still trying to process.

Agreed with the general consensus here, some of the set up was a bit eye rolling but the action sequences were really solid and those aliens were damnnnn.

When JK Simmons showed up for a three minute scene I was like yeah he'll be back later. And lol at Conspiracy Santa.

Finally finished. It wasn't that it was bad, necessarily (even though it was, to be clear), it's that it was rushed. Because I really liked the cast, the story itself had a ton of potential, and could have been serviced so much better as a six or eight episode limited series.

For instance, the team just deciding there toward the end to go to Russia after one dumb conversation with that bureaucrat dude, and then, once they were there, having that forced convo amongst themselves about how the U.N. would just screw it up - we needed to SEE stuff like that; SEE Pratt try to convince the powers that be, SEE the bureaucratic ineptitude, SEE Pratt & co hit that brick wall and get frustrated, THEN finally decide to go to Russia on their own, etc. Those two exposition scenes are a whole episode right there. Same goes for them actually sneaking into Russia, gearing up, making it more of a challenge to find the ship, etc. That's easily a whole other episode (the entire series finale, for instance).

Overall, it was a decently cool premise, and the time travel logic/mechanics didn't bug me nearly as much as I thought they would (though an exploration of/deeper dive into how we invented *time travel* could have helped as well). It was just way too much story for a single movie, that led to all kinds of cheating and cutting that forced bad/dumb decisions when there didn't need to be. I wanted to see the premise fleshed out and explored, and these characters given more room to grow and establish relationships we actually cared about.

Two sincere comments:

Betty Gilpin's rack is simply amazing

Ryan George is literally one of the best personalities on the internet and I hope he is monetizing the F out of it. Guy is golden.

ScreenRant is such a sh*t site, and I had never seen this Ryan guy before, but man that was great. God, this movie is dumb. I still feel like a lot of these issues could have been solved in a limited series format, but the rest are just *really* bad writing.

Go watch some of the other pitch meeting videos for films like Godzilla vs Kong, Mortal Kombat, and other big popcorn type movies, they're pretty fantastic.
