Are you kidding me? People love to hate on Seinfeld.
Ive heard of people who just never watched it or simply don't care for it. But to actively hate, no.
I do not "hate" Seinfeld, but I do not like it.

Yes, the situations in story could be and were funny, no question about that, but I did not like a single one of the characters. None of them were sympathetic or empathetic..

They weren't supposed to be. Another one of the things that makes Seinfeld the greatest sitcom of all time.

"No hugging and no learning" was one of Larry David's cornerstones of the show.

Why couldn't it be: "The one with the reunion"

And that's why many of us are "meh" on Seinfeld. I can appreciate its humor, but for me to really love a movie, or especially a TV show, I have to love the characters.

When I get home from a long frustrating day at work, I want to turn on a show with characters I appreciate and like.

I walked into this skeptically. These people got paid $4M each to show up for a day for this and wouldn't have done it otherwise. But god dammit it if they didn't deliver like they always did. 100% entertaining, def worth the time, probs will send me back down into a rewatch.

I also find it bizarre that they've only been in a room together once in 17 years before this. The whole premise of the reunion is how close they were. But not close enough to meet up for dinner with your friends you worked with for a decade once a year. I've done more with people I worked with and was less intimate with (seemingly). That just seems odd.

To be fair, Schwimmer lives in NYC, and the three women get together all the time.

And they've all worked in each other's projects over the years. (Aniston+Cox in Dirt, Perry+Cox in Cougar Town, Schwimmer+LeBlanc in Episodes, and I believe most of the cast has been on Kudrow's Web Therapy.)

That was about two hours of our life the wife and I are happy to not get back. Talk about nostalgia.

Also, Crap Bag and Rachel were in Wanderlust together.

even with Breaking Bad, there was at least a period where you were sympathetic to the characters in spite of their actions.

that just did not exist with Seinfeld for me.
Agreed.

When I watch a comedic show, I want to laugh more than anything else. Different strokes

17 years and only one time, for an iconic show they worked on for a decade, is just weird. It's not like their lifestyles became super consumed by their corporate 9to5s after the fact. It's just weird!!!

The reunion gave me all the nostalgia feels. The wife and I now want to go back and rewatch the series.

Not sure how old you are, but when Friends first aired, my wife and I were teenagers. We were big fans back then, rarely missing an episode. We went back and watched the whole series as adults, and it was like watching with new eyes. Just amazing.

So dumb question do you just sign up for HBO Max for a month and unsubscribe? We haven't had a reason to get it before now.

Yep, exactly. Watch Mare of East Town while you're at it.

Fiasco is disgusted by massively talented singers who raise $128 million in charity for covid. What a turnoff

When she first came out, I was not a fan and found her over-the-top antics (meat dress anyone?) off putting. However, I've come to appreciate and respect her talent. And it doesn't hurt that she grew up listening to metal.

I had a similar reversal on Justin Timberlake.

I look at this as, not only was she genuinely talented, but she had a knack for finding a niche and forcing herself into pop culture.

Now she can do what she wants.

Not far off from John Mayer. Write a song like no such thing and wonderland, then finance your career as a kick ass bluesy guitarist.

A meat dress is similar to writing big pop hits?

Lady Gaga won me over in a star is born...I don't care for her music on the radio, but she showed a very likeable side of herself during that movie and ever since.

Well, it's a 2-hour unscripted Reunion, so.... yes. You will probably want to have seen at least a few episodes of Friends to have any idea what the heck they're talking about.

"Unscripted"

CNN is an enemy of the state and should be treated as such.

The most mind-blowing thing in this reunion is in the main titles video in the extras.

Aniston is not lip-syncing "I'll be there for you" when she's dancing in the fountain, because that song didn't exist yet. Even though it looks like she's singing exactly that.

The only thing I didn't like about this was James Corden (I can't stand him)

Friends was very much my age group, and I really enjoyed the first few seasons, it was one of those shows that defined our generation, I bailed after a few seasons when it started to lean towards who was dating who, crushes, babies, relationships etc. But I did really enjoy this, was a nice trip down memory lane, even if they kept it really simple and put a best face on it all.

They should have dropped the whole James Corden part and just had them sitting in the living room set or doing the table reads. Those were great. Cordon? Not so much.

It was nice to see that, during one of the table reads, Aniston showed us that they still kept the studio very cold.
