Friends was very much my age group, and I really enjoyed the first few seasons, it was one of those shows that defined our generation, I bailed after a few seasons when it started to lean towards who was dating who, crushes, babies, relationships etc. But I did really enjoy this, was a nice trip down memory lane, even if they kept it really simple and put a best face on it all.
Though I love the early seasons, I always can't wait to get to Season 5. In my head, Chandler belongs with Monica. Watching the first 4 seasons always feels weird, to me.

This show never gets bad, imo. There are episodes that aren't as strong, but I think they do a great job for most of the run of the show.

it did really shock me how little the actors knew about the show.

Ross didnt even remember the ball throwing episode. They didnt remember Mr. Heckles name. there were plenty others. I didnt expect that!

It was really great. dated my wife in high school and have been dating 16 years, and married for 6 years now. Have probably watched 1,000 episodes together. It was great to watch this together.

blew my mind how fat Joey was. I guess thats what his character would look like at 50 so maybe it fits.

but he could definitely afford to drop about 20. Its crazy to me when super rich people are unhealthy like that.

I love all seasons. I do hate a couple of things in the show though.

-cant stand the Joey/Rachel trying to date episodes. makes me cringe

-really hate the Monica/Chandler proposal episode. One of the most botched episodes in TV history in my opinion. those two getting engaged was a big deal and they ruined it with the whole Richard thing.

Seasons 4-7 are peak Friends, imo. But particularly 5 and 6.

oh and HOW THE HELL has no one mentioned that Rachel was "cold", yet again, during that table reading.

that had to have been on purpose

Joey "proposing" to Rachel and the effects of that was groan inducing and the worst story on the show. Turned me off of the series for a while during the original run.

Was easily the worst period of the show. Total miscalculation by the producers/writers.

Yep, never liked Joey/Rachel. Glad they ended that relatively quickly.

Funny, Ross and Rachel annoyed me all the time. She and Joey make more sense together.

worse "forced match". Rachel and Joey or Robin and Barney?

Lol that was bad too.

Also wanna throw Jan Brady and George Glass in. That felt really unreal as a viewer.

I agree.

The "we were on a break" thing was the worst, for both characters.

He's definitely gained weight since his last show, "Man with a Plan," was canceled.

But so have I.

The only thing I didn't like about this was James Corden (I can't stand him)
Yeah I wonder how they came to the decision to have him host the show. I wonder if it's because he is the host of his own show? But they could have chosen Jimmy Fallon at the very least although I would have much preferred if it was a guest from Friends or the director/producer/writer of the show itself.

Jimmy Kimmel would have made a lot more sense. He's obviously tight with Rachel and has had some great Friends spoofs on his show over the years. That said, not really grasping the Corden hate. Carpool Karaoke is awesome and he's the voice of Peter Rabbit!

Kimmel is just as insufferable as Corbin.

Paul Rudd was the obvious choice.

Conan would've been the best choice. Not only is he the best of the late night hosts, he's close friends with Lisa Kudrow and he already works in the WB studios.

Oh and put me down for disliking Corden. Carpool Karaoke aside, he's just so over-the-top all the time. It's incredibly grating. He's the "fakest" of the hosts to me, and that's saying a lot. Fallon is a close second though.

This.

Conan is by far the best and is actually genuinely funny.

re: the people around the world saying that Friends changed their life segment...

It may have been a little over the top but I can somewhat relate.

I used The Office in that way. There have been plenty time in my life where I was bummed as **** or just having an awful day(college stress was when I started this) and I would resort to binging The Office. Lifechanging for me in that aspect

I just assumed Corden was chosen because Friends was the ultimate teenage girl show and nobody embodies teenage girls better than him.

I kid, I kid.

pretty sure they were all on a zoom call together during lockdown last year. Don't remember the premise though. I think the host also got all of back to the future cast on a call.

I can't think of a more flamboyant gay seeming person that isn't actually gay, than Corden.

(Not that there's anything wrong with that.)
