In the one clip of them answering questions, Perry is speaking very slowly and is kinda slurring his words. Almost reminds me of a stroke victim. Not sure if he's had any health problems but it seemed pretty noticeable to me.
From what I've read, he's relapsed back into his alcohol addiction. Feel bad for the guy.

Ditto. I can't recall the name of the movie but he was in a decent comedy movie post Friends and then he just disappeared off the face of the earth.

That trailer made me a lot more nostalgic and interested in it although I don't have HBOMax so it's sort of a moot point other than YouTube bits.

I've heard Paul Rudd tell two stories on different podcasts about not being so well received on the set by some people so maybe that's why he's not a part of it, but that's incredibly myopic - he married Phoebe - he's literally the 7th friend.

Like most guys, I enjoyed Chandler and Joey the most when the show was initially on. In hindsight, I think Cox and Schwimmer did the best acting jobs, two social misfits as teenagers really trying to hold on to these much cooler people they have found. And they had a great dynamic as brother and sister. Loved Eilliot Gould as their dad too.

Yes, this one. Because I'm a pig the only thing I remember about it is that Amanda Peet shows her boobs.

It's amazing to have a cast of 6 and you could make a case of any of the 6 to be the "strongest/best" character.
I've been trying to come up with another example of a sitcom where nobody stands out at the "main" character. Every other sitcom I can think of, there's the 1-2 lead/breakout characters, and then the rest of the cast who's just along for the ride.

Seinfeld in Seinfeld, Sheldon/Penny/Leonard in BBT, etc. Those guys were making bank while the rest of the cast just kind of rode the coattails.

The closest example I can think of is maybe HIMYM? Even though Barney is pretty clearly the breakout star of that series, and Alyson Hannigan was gone for a considerable period in that one. And from some quick googling, he was making nearly double what the others were making by the final episode.

I think this show is unique in that regard. By all accounts, it's six lead characters and six breakout superstars.

Ross and Monica's mom (Christina Pickles) was just perfect too...they absolutely nailed that "family" dynamic with their casting.

did you only see the pic? that pic is a lot different than the videos.

a lot of 50 year olds I know have aged more gracefully than them.
Well, let's see pictures of them and get the details of how they've lived every moment in the public eye since the 1990s.
eh, works both ways. they are also millionaires with basically unlimited funds and their job is to stay pretty.

I think Phoebe & Joey were clearly meant to be "support" characters. The had some funny arcs, but the main story was Ross & Rachel, then later Chandler & Monica.

IIRC, the only reason all the "Friends" were paid the same in the later years is because they all banded together and demanded that none of the six would make more or less than another.

I think I disagree with this. Obviously, Seinfeld was meant to be the lead but his supporting cast are some of the best characters in tv history and ultimately held their own and became more famous/quoted/popular than Jerry ever was...on that show; not necessarily IRL.

Yep, and that happened fairly early on too, like around season 2-3 if I'm not mistaken.

But the reason that happened is because Schwimmer and Aniston realized that the show had no main character by that point. I think you're right that some characters were meant to be support characters, but by season 2 it was clear they were all equally important.

Back in the day I waited tables at a brewpub in College Station that no longer exists. Great place.

Friends night ultimately became our biggest money night. We started putting up a projection screen and had a viewing party for it. I think this was in the final season but I can't quite remember. Place was absolutely packed!

Wife and I are 41, and lived in tx a few decades and co now for 8 years, so two completely different sets of friends between the two cities. Call it 12-15 couples that we know pretty well and talk to regularly. 1 person in the group, many times both, know friends and can quote or remember lines we quote.

2 years ago, we got new neighbors and became good friends, and we find out the girl wasn't a friends watcher, and knows nothing about the show. First time we've met someone like this lol.

It's just weird we made it this far in life, and for the first time found this friend that doesn't know friends.

She's a bit younger, 37, but not too young to have just completely missed it. I baffles me there is a woman that was out of HS for at least a couple years while friends was active, and didn't watch friends. I thought it was a rite of passage for a young adult woman to watch that show while it was on.

Always appreciated they banded together the way they did. You can tell they all truly like and care for one another, which is one of the reasons the show was so successful. They all truly had chemistry and always worked together, no matter how much they mixed and matched.

It seems to me that Chandler and Rachel weren't in scenes with just each other, very much. However, the ones they were matched together were fantastic.

Absolutely!

An argument I have with my brother all the time when concerning Friends. He doesn't care for the show and didn't find it funny. I've always said at least half of the humor comes from knowing the characters so well. That ending is kind of amusing for someone who doesn't know Joey. As a fan, I have seen it probably 10 times and I still guffaw at it.

"alright what are we having" while pulling out a fork from inside coat pocket is brilliant writing. Possibly Joey's best line.

Maybe tied with "I'm not even sorry" with dessert all over his face.

I know rachel's hair cut in earlier seasons was the huge craze, but dang she's way better looking with that hair.
