Super long shot, but did anyone ever see a band from Bay City, Texas that was a SRV tribute band? I think they were called the Radio Killers. The lead was fantastic and played with the same facial expressions and mannerisms as SRV.

They played a gig at a Troutmasters tournament in Matagorda in the late 90's. The lead was good enough to go places.

King Crimson does a great version of Heroes as well. I don't know if it qualifies as a cover or not, since Fripp played the guitars on the original Bowie version.
