Finally caught up this week and loving it. I thought it took a few episode to really gel, and that might have just been Gunn getting used to writing for TV, but it feels like he's already mastered the flow/plotting these last two episodes. It's all working so well together now, especially as the characters have grown closer. Such a fun, well-told story at this point.

My only minor complaint is that if you follow Gunn on social media, once you know this was filmed in Canada - outside of Vancouver, specifically, where Warner Bros films all their other DC/CW shows - the generic Canadian-ness of the locations *really* sticks out. I just wish the settings didn't look so drab and generic and indistinct. But again, just a minor pet peeve.

I really can't wait for the finale...Gunn released the first 7 episodes to critics but purposefully held back the 8th to eliminate spoilers and said it was his favorite episode of the entire season, which blows my mind.

Slightly off topic but in the same interview he talks about GOTG 3 and that Chukwudi Iwuji (Murn) is in it and is blowing everyone away with how incredible his performance is. He said people are just losing their **** over how good he is. He also said the GOTG Holiday Special has a ton of buzz and people that have read the script can't wait to see it.

As a side note, the piano tuner came in to tune our piano the day we shot this & was grumbling about how old & shitty it was. But this seemed to more likely be the kind of piano that was abandoned in an old video store, & more true to the story, so we went with it.

Was the new police captain not a butterfly, but merely a stooge of Murn and Waller?

Also, can we all just take a moment to give thanks that the mouse dropped Gunn for a while and allowed DC to snatch him up? Will he be around for future seasons?

He wasn't, but knew Murn before he was a butterfly.

Gunn mentioned the potential of a season 2, and that he has another DC show (spin-off from TSS) and potentially DC movie in the works.

The police captain was a former acquaintance/partner of Murn's (remember the butterfly can access his memories) and based on their initial conversation (and his actions on the show) a rather vicious mercenary.

Of course now he is a butterfly and why the diary was exposed after he initially was going to conceal it.

Gunn seems fired up for a season 2 (as all of us are) and based on the critical buzz and I assume good/decent ratings HBO will greenlight it soon.

Yeah, you're right. I just remember seeing a headline on Twitter around then. Still, pretty damn good.

Makes you wonder what Gunn could do if he were ever handed the keys to a franchise that people really cared about since lets face it, 99% of the population had never heard of the Suicide Squad or GOTG characters before he took them over (save for Harley Quinn).

Suicide squad was still just okay for me (far better than original) but Peacemaker has been pretty good.

If there is another spin off series l feel like it would involve Idris Elba again just to bring views.

Also can Gunn do a show that has nothing to do with Alien hosts inhabiting humans lol

He was offered Superman and turned it down to do TSS instead.

Didn't he have something to do with the one good Superman property since Christopher Reeves superman ?

He did Brightburn, which is sort of a Superman pastiche, but completely unrelated.

That is what I was talking about.

He actually was in Unforgiven...played Texas Slim, who, in one of the great scenes in the movie (and there are plenty) brings a drink of water to "Davey Boy" and as he side saddles across the ground yells up at Eastwood "you better not shoot me you *******."

Probably one of the few on screen characters to ever call Eastwood a name in a western and not get killed (at least I don't think he was at Greeley's at the end of the movie).

Guess I gotta binge this soon.

I am loving this show, and this isn't a criticism - more an observation - but I thought the exact same thing. This is like the 3rd or 4th time he's done it.
