What happened. I just lost the show in Houston.
Damn. KPRC just went straight into the nightly news at 10:15.
I can see where this ending is going. Chris Farley flashback.
Hate to say you're missing a pretty good McCartney performance.
Channel 2 decided hood shootings were somehow more important. Literally happens every Saturday Night (like the show)
May have to do another Peacock trial to catch up on this and the music special.

I was wrong about not inviting Chevy. He was standing next to Fallon.
I think the highlight of the evening was Eddie Murphy doing Tracy Morgan.

Man, this brought back a flood of memories for me. I was a freshman at A&M when this show debuted.

Eddie definitely stole the show. In my opinion, he's the best cast member they've ever had.
Overall I enjoyed it. I know people have bagged on SNL for decades about not being funny anymore, but it's still pretty impressive what they're able to throw together in a week as far as writing, sets, costumes, etc. for a regular episode.

I'm not sure he was actually going to shake Keenan's hand or if Keenan more caught him as he was falling off the stage.

Definitely more of a retrospective of the last~20 years instead of the last 50.

Weird that they didn't have Lorne close out the show.
I thought SNL was a hilarious show in the 1970's and 80's. There were a lot of good years after that too, but now it's hard to watch most the time. Too bad. Colin Jost and Michael Che are the worst "Weekend Update" hosts in the history of the show.

Peacock threw this on for me after the 50th special. Miley was great. She really struggled to find her place after Hannah Montana, but I think she's found a good spot in the Rock/Pop genre. She has gotten away better as she's gotten older.
As great as SNL is (50 freaking years!?) they really stink at these anniversary shows. So much potential to work with and they throw out 3 hours of uneven mess. Some of it hit, a lot didn't. In a way, I guess it's symbolic of the show.
But come on. No Dan Aykroyd, Jane Curtain, Chevy Chase, Dana Carvey, Darrell Hammond, Bill Hader (just off the top of my head).
