They finally put this out on Paramount + so I started watching it yesterday, Got as far as start of the sailboat scene and just turned it off.

Perhaps this is just a movie that is about what I've done for a living for the last several decades and can't bring myself to suspend reality long enough to enjoy a work of fiction. But I really was surprised to see so many calling this the movie of the year.

First scene of the movie and the dude cranking on an aircraft engine with a giant 1/2 in drive ratchet. First thought was wtf is going on here.

I didnt like this super popular thing, look at me!!

It's an updated 80s action movie. I thoroughly enjoyed it. 9/10.

Would have been a 10 if the following:

1. If it had a blatant all white male cast sprinkled with some homosexuality as a nice homage to the original and an ef you to the woke world. I mean they had a woman, a black and Mexican guy when they did the Star Wars run. Come on.

2. Ditch the get shot down, traverse through snow environment lord knows how many miles and survive, steal a convenient top gun part 1 jet, impossible take off and shooting down two ….lol….gen 5 fighters, and finally crash land safely on an aircraft carrier. But I'll allow the tower flyby. Necessary.
