Cinco Ranch Aggie said:The original really doesn't need to be remade, but if you were to remake, you'd want it to more closely resemble the book upon which it was based where Rambo dies. I believe the sheriff dies as well, but it's been many years since I read it. This wouldn't go over well with movie audiences, I suspect, and more importantly, it would rob the world of scenes such as blowing up a Vietnamese soldier with an explosive-tipped arrow or driving down an Arizona highway and dropping the head of a cartel assclown out the window.Ghost of Andrew Eaton said:

It's a timeless story, as long as there have been power structures in human society, and charismatic humans, and power has corrupted humans - the story relates. Which is why the original holds up over 60 years later.Burdizzo said:Complete Idiot said:

I would offer off commentary, but I don't want this to turn into F16. Good suggestion.
I'm on board for any remake featuring amazing car chases and Ana de Armas.G Martin 87 said:
Bullitt. Now, I love Steve McQueen, and I still have a strong crush on Jacqueline Bisset (my god, she was gorgeous), and the car chase is iconic with good reason. But the car chase also reuses the same background cars and footage multiple times. How many cream Pontiac Firebirds and VW Beetles were there in San Francisco anyway? A modern Bullitt with an up-to-date car chase and Ana de Armas would be amazing.

I am not even sure if it requires a remake since it holds up pretty well, but modern cinematography and acting styles might make it more interesting to younger generations.

If they're gonna remake a Steve McQueen movie, it needs to be "The Blob".
