The original really doesn't need to be remade, but if you were to remake, you'd want it to more closely resemble the book upon which it was based where Rambo dies. I believe the sheriff dies as well, but it's been many years since I read it. This wouldn't go over well with movie audiences, I suspect, and more importantly, it would rob the world of scenes such as blowing up a Vietnamese soldier with an explosive-tipped arrow or driving down an Arizona highway and dropping the head of a cartel assclown out the window.

The original is great. I just think that a story more focused on the book would be great. The sheriff is much more interesting than in the movie.
If you say you hate the state of politics in this nation and you don't get involved in it, you obviously don't hate the state of politics in this nation.

Eragon, but give it the LOTR treatment. Loved the books, but the movie sucked.

Not so much a remake even though they have covered some of the story already, but I would like to see a well done saga of the prequel plot of Godfather Part II. Maybe a streaming series how Vito Corleone, Clemenza, and Tessio built the family while raising Sonny, Michael, Fredo, and Connie

Bullitt. Now, I love Steve McQueen, and I still have a strong crush on Jacqueline Bisset (my god, she was gorgeous), and the car chase is iconic with good reason. But the car chase also reuses the same background cars and footage multiple times. How many cream Pontiac Firebirds and VW Beetles were there in San Francisco anyway? A modern Bullitt with an up-to-date car chase and Ana de Armas would be amazing.

I would offer off commentary, but I don't want this to turn into F16. Good suggestion.

It's a timeless story, as long as there have been power structures in human society, and charismatic humans, and power has corrupted humans - the story relates. Which is why the original holds up over 60 years later.

I am not even sure if it requires a remake since it holds up pretty well, but modern cinematography and acting styles might make it more interesting to younger generations.

I'm on board for any remake featuring amazing car chases and Ana de Armas.

Andy Griffith did an amazing job. When you saw his dark side in this movie, it was hard to believe he made a living from likeable characters like Andy Taylor and Matlock.

What is was was football.

Don't touch John Wayne & The Cowboys nor Quigley Downunder. The originals still work just fine.

If they're gonna remake a Steve McQueen movie, it needs to be "The Blob".

I watched this movie late one night in the 1970s when CBS showed movies after local news as the "CBS Late Night Movie". I thought it was a remake, but it was allegedly a sequel.

Produced by JR Ewing, I mean Larry Hagman.

A recent movie that I'd like to be done right* is Justice League. But only after a proper build up to it with each of the characters getting their own movie. I don't believe this has been announced as part of the new DCU.

* Not counting Zach Snyder's Justice League, which I thought was fantastic and would love to see Snyder conclude his vision for that trilogy (not gonna happen but I really liked the synopsis of what it would have been).
