that's really the only loose end that wasn't tied up. He could go either way. It would be more interesting if he stays loyal to m-tex.

I remember him saying he will be on the rig for 6 months and they won't see each other till then. So his character is parked for a while

I will be like Gendry from GOT. He'll row up in a boat 3 episodes from the finale after being gone 4 seasons and play a major role.

What happened/happens to all the agreements Cooper made with the land owners when he first went out on his own?

He drilled them and holds them and it's the basis for CTT's existence

Yeah, the entire point with Nate not passing on the contracts was Cooper retained the agreements under his name and they never officially transferred to MTex. So, though MTex started drilling, they never owned the land rights.

This, along with Tommy reimbursing MTex for the drilling but behind Cami's back, are the two shady things he did that I'm sure will come back up at a later date.

Basically, only the small group that met up with them at the end had any knowledge about Cooper's agreements, the 6 active wells, and the unsigned contracts that would have transferred ownership of everything to MTex. Tommy had the check for $44M, to clear up the MTex books, so no one goes looking for why they have a deficit, and he had Nate basically "forget" about the unsigned contracts.

Danny knows about Cooper's wells.

I imagine Tommy knows enough of MTex's skeletons in the closet that Cami won't really push the issue over a measly $44 million that was ultimately paid back. It would be MAD. Danny probably wouldn't support her in that either given that he has his hands in both pots. She's SOL IMO.

Danny fianced them. The first 6 anyway. Now it appears he knows about the rest, so yes.

My guess is the offshore rig is going hit major pay dirt and Cami will be just fine….

Now I'm off to open up my new LLC, "Houston Lee & Cattle"…

That was a good ending to the season. I really enjoyed both Tommy working his way through his problems and Rebecca putting the fear of God into the DA and Odessa PD. No way a murder charge is even thought of; they would be more likely to throw a parade for Cooper.

I was thinking that felt like a series finale, but I am glad they will continue. I like the characters for the most part. I don't need any more if Ainsley as a regular, and I sure don't care to ever see the roommate again.

Part of me wants to see Cami hit it big with the offshore drilling project, but I suspect she is going to end up as a tragic character who loses everything - Monty, her new company, and all her money.

I think they said her money safely in a trust but she will lose her royalties

Best episode of the season. Problem-solving Tommy is best Tommy. Really liked the way this came together, as I had been wondering all season why he and that group didn't just form their own company.

The conversation with Cooper in the truck was hilarious!
"Can you Gen-Z me up a group text to ..."
"Oh, and Cheyenne. It's probably under 'stripper'".

Cooper: "There's a stripper...Jasmine, Harmony, Destiny..."
Tommy: "That's all for work"

Ultimately, I agree. But I'm sure we'll still get several episodes of drama over all of this.

Danny wants to make money... that's all he cares about. If that means Cami were to be completely destitute, I don't see him caring. The only possible reason he would care is if his wife truly is friends with Cami and intercedes on her behalf.

Outside of that, Danny has already said Tommy was the reason he invested his money with MTex. Danny trusts Tommy's expertise and will hitch his wagon to whomever brings him money. That's at least a predictable thing, dealing with a Cartel boss.

I don't see how the series ends without Danny being killed. They can't start the character off killing someone in front of Tommy and it end with a peaceful conclusion.

I really enjoy this series...even more than Yellowstone.

This was the role BBT was meant to play. He absolutely owns it and makes the show what it is. He's raw, honest, and complicated, but still has a enough of a moral compass. He speaks what most people think but aren't willing to say. I like how he'll call out self-righteous people on both ends of the spectrum (religious rancher who didn't like his language in S1 and PC culture, green energy movement, the media, etc. on the other)

The finale really set up an interesting dynamic with Tommy's choice to turn down a guaranteed high paying job with another company to go out on his own and take another gamble.

Tommy clearly has more experience than Cami and Cooper, but it's kind of interesting how Tommy tried so hard to steer both of them away from making a big gamble and working with Danny. Yet what does Tommy do? He turns down a great job with big money to take a gamble on the wells Cooper discovered to get in deeper with Danny.

Clearly that's not going to be as simple as it seems. Just when you start to like Danny, they throw in something chilling...like his last exchange with Tommy ("If you try to **** me over I will take what you love the most"). They've done a good job at making his character a slow burn, where you don't know if he's got a nice side or if he's just that ruthless and manipulative. Andy Garcia was perfect for that role.

I also like the layers they've added to Rebecca and Angela.

Yes, Angela is definitely volatile and crazy...but as the series has gone on they've her to be more than that. She loves to live large, but yet she unconditionally loves Cooper (who is the polar opposite) and supports his success. She also made it very clear she loves Tommy more than his job or income level...and the reason they split wasn't because he lost everything.

I wanted to dislike Rebecca in S1, but they've really given her some incredible exchanges in the show. Now they're starting to peel back her layers and show that she's a very empathic person underneath the cut-throat lawyer image. The scene with her in the pirate outfit was a huge moment for her character in the show, that she was more than her business-like image.

I think they've given the storyline enough runway to get a few more seasons out of it. I'm definitely left wanting more, which doesn't happen as often with shows these days.

Really nice season finale. Kinda wish it would just stop here instead of TS driving the series into the ground like Yellowstone.

I think one more season would be about perfect for this show.
