I'm not a big horror guy but this is looking pretty fantastic, may have to try to get out to a theater for this one.

This looks awesome. Hoping there's not a lot of over-the-top race-baiting though.

So the Avengers are not in this?

Because I was hoping the end would have MBJ turning into Blade and then Wong slingringing in to say "we need to talk".

Very happy to see WB Discovery supporting BIPOC Representation, especially after the ridiculous "old boy network" of Zaslav ordering his studio to make Alto Knights …….. because he was Martha's Vineyard walking buddies with Nick Pileggi !!!

…yes seriously.

Which will cost the studio 100 million plus in losses. This is why some of us here, in our advocacy for Diverse Stories, so strongly resist pejoratives such as "Social Justice Warriors" - this is really a question of artistic justice, of opportunity, of uplift.

We must do better.

I'm very excited for these artists, and pleased to see more BIPOC stories hitting the big screen. The old ways must pass.

Edit: please support, and spread the word on social media.

I wish I had a early screening access to this movie, just so I could ruin it for you.

It's a period piece with white vampires sucking the blood out of the black protagonists, likely metaphorically as well as literally.

I'm just not seeing how they could go over the top with that set up. I think you're good.

Man that dude has the most Bay Area accent ever. Seems like a cool, down to earth dude just living out his dream.

Why can't it just an entertaining movie? I was going to see it because I like vampire movies and it looks good. BIPOC never even came into my mind. But thanks for that, I guess.

You haven't followed efforts for Diversity and Inclusion the past half decade? Long overdue, and as I already mentioned WB deserves credit for supporting these efforts - especially after the "friends" green light to Alto Knights, now incurring massive losses.

Audiences deserve BIPOC Storytelling, and I'm extremely excited to support this effort (opening day, earliest showtime, toward the front)

We are 6 days away.

It is essential we support the film, especially as Hollywood seems determined to "pull back" from Diversity and Inclusion initiatives.

Let's show there is a better way, a way of Representation.

If we alternately "push in" we may be able to establish some sort of rhythm to this thing.

What exactly does that tweet mean by "fully" original movie? Is he saying every single other movie made since 2020, which has opened to more than $35M, has been from previously established source material? That's hard to believe.
TCTTS

Yeah, that's what he's saying. I just double checked and it seems he's (mostly) right, save for Onward, which earned $39M its opening weekend, unless for some reason he's not counting animated Pixar movies? That said, literally everything else on this list looks to be based on previously established source material, which is insane...

that's an absolutely insane observation.

This is the first film since I can remember that made me want to go see it in theaters (without a kid dragging me to see it).

Ill gladly support the effort if people quit rehashing and rebooting stuff and make good original movies again.

I never saw Black Panther because Marvel movies aren't really my thing, but Creed was great.

Just opening weekend, I'm not too surprised. Original IP's can make plenty of money (see Star Wars), but they need word of mouth to get them there.
Thanks and gig'em

Ok, so I finally watched that damn Ryan Coogler primer about film stock, and I'll be damned if I'm not interested now in driving 30 min to go see this in 70 (65?) mm IMAX. went and watched Oppenheimer in that format and boy was that something.

Tonight is the night. There is still time….

Please go see the film immediately, hopefully on IMAX, and take your friends.

We need to show that original work by BIPOC Artists must be the new Hollywood norm, leaving behind the "good ol boys" network that gave us the total disaster of Alto Knights, for example (literally, from being walking buddies on Martha's Vineyard).

We can, and must, do better.
