New spot during the Final Four just announced that the next trailer will drop online Monday. Seeing as CBS owns Paramount, I'm assuming there will be some synergy with the National Championship game.

Whoa it's got Hannah Waddingham (Ted Lasso) and Tramell Tillman (Severance)? Didn't expect that.

Yeah? What about it?
GoldenEye is fantastic and any slander on GoldenEye will not be tolerated.
I'm going to go ahead and say what everyone is thinking.Claude! said:
Though they definitely overlap in a lot of ways, I think Bond, Bourne, and MI all offer different things to a certain extent. Bourne is "realistic" (by comparison) and tells smaller, more focused stories. MI, especially the later films, is all-in on action spectacle and Cruise's trademark insane stunts.
Bond has done both to a certain extent, but I think what sets that franchise apart (aside from longevity) is location. Where Bond is doing his thing (whether it's Jamaica or the train from Istanbul) is often as big a part of the movie as what he happens to be doing there. There's obviously some of that in Bourne and MI (e.g., Cruise climbing the Burj Khalifa), but I don't think it's generally as important a part of those franchises.

Yeah, I'm pretty pumped to see this one and see what they actually did on the ship, bc I have no ****ing clue. Haha
The mission impossible movies are usually ****ing awesome, but this one looks like one of the best. I don't see movies in the theater much anymore, but I will be seeing this in one for sure.
Somehow, I read this in the voice of Gene Hackman from Crimson Tide.Quote:

Diggin' the new cast additions, especially glad to see Trammell Tillman get a shot in a big film as he's incredible on Severance.
At its best, I still think Bond is the best spy genre. IMO, Casino Royale is better than any MI movie. Although they are older, I also think Goldfinger and Thunderball are up there as well. At its worst, though, Bond is the worst spy franchise. There are some really bad Bond movies. MI is probably the most consistent spy franchise. None of them are bad (not even MI2 IMO). A lot of them are great.normalhorn said:
I may set myself up for a hefty amount of ridicule, but if this movie is equally as solid as DR Part 1, I feel there's no way that the Bond series has a claim to be the best spy/action story made (and I'm a 007 fan)
The Bourne series was mounting a strong storyline, then it just ran out of steam. Then, it got boring.
Sure, MI 2 was abysmally bad. But, GoldenEye? The World is Not Enough? Die Another Day?
And, judge Cruise's personal life as you want, but, he's arguably the most successful action hero actor of all time, right?
Yeah, I'm IN for this on opening night, especially if it can get onto an IMAX screen.

Part of this movie was filmed on my ship, while we were on our 22-23 deployment. Tom Cruise made an announcement on the 1MC before flying off, and signed off as Maverick. It was very weird and surreal, and didn't feel real. I never saw him, but a few of my buddies did and said he was real polite but didn't talk much.
So when you're watching it, and the scenes where they're on CVN 77 are on the screen, I'm there working in the bottom of the ship making it move through the water, creating electricity, and sending steam to the roof to launch planes.
I love that The Entity, a sentient God AI, is legit concerned about Ethan Hunt. It knows it can make all the world governments its bitch but theres this one beautiful super athletic man that could maybe kill it.

good observation and they I think TCTTS took your suggestion and BAM it's there in the new one!!Claude! said:
If I have one nitpick about the trailer, it's the lack (at least to my ears) of the M:I theme. The last five or ten seconds where it cuts to Ethan Hunt saying something would've been great to transition to that iconic theme.
TCTTS - That would make big money to have each of the 7 previous movies out for 1 week prior to May 23... what a great opportunity for refresh (and push that box office number up too!)TCTTS said:Paramount Pictures should put all the MISSION: IMPOSSIBLE movies back in theaters for a marathon screening the month of, or before, #MissionImpossible8’s release.
