Also, which gods? Without spoiling a more than 2,000 year old story, the gods picked sides both during and after Troy. To obey Athena was to defy Aphrodite. Different gods also changed their opinions during the course of the story.

Went to see Jurassic World yesterday. They had your usual trailers, then a commercial, then the Odyssey teaser. It fell really flat, probably because of the timing with the other trailers, but they need something more showy.

Probably, I did sway the audience by loudly screaming "THE ANCIENT GREEKS DIDN'T USE A SILVER LINOTHORAX, IT WAS BRONZE!" so that might have affected things.

I haven't seen any, unfortunately.

I've heard rumors that it'll never officially release online and I've heard others that it'll be online in August, after all the big July blockbusters. If I had to guess, it'll be the latter, as I don't think there's ever been a Nolan teaser that hasn't officially/eventually released online.

I saw the same ahead of JW. I agree with you, but also it is a teaser for a story that has been retold a million times. I'm not sure what could have got me excited about it without a longer trailer.

So this is apparently a legit thing, and some theaters jumped the gun. How they're even going to do this without knowing the runtime (Nolan is literally still filming!), I have no idea…

According to the internets, Oppenheimer only played in Texas in San Antonio and Dallas in 70 mm IMAX. I guess that's what we should expect for this one?

Yea, there are only 19 70mm IMAX theaters in the US and 2 of them happen to be in Texas.

Just a heads up, tickets went on sale 15 minutes ago. I managed to snag four, which is less than I wanted, at my favorite IMAX theater (the Chinese), but the showing I chose is already damn near sold out. This is so ****ing stupid and better not become a trend.

Yeah, what I don't understand is why true IMAX screens aren't yet popping up all over the country/world? They're in huge demand, put butts in seats, and make going to the movies feel like an event/awe-inspiring again. Is it an issue of simply not having enough physical space? Because otherwise they're absolutely worth the investment…

I mean when a movie is showing in 70mm IMAX, people want to see it in the format. But there is not a huge supply of movies being displayed in that format so why build more? A digital IMAX screen seems like a much more sound investment for a theater, which there are hundreds of those. Even with events like these I still don't think the incentive is there for more true IMAX for just a handful of filmmakers, with maybe 1-2 true IMAX releases/year.
